I'm a newbie and I found Skruf Stark Los very mellow, not quite as salty but yes, must have salt and no flavorings really.just simple clean and effective. Since its stronger you could use a little less making it yourself in a tea bag and then there is less salt too. Just my thoughts. It's the only one I have tried that might fit the bill. As far as tasting this stuff I find if I just put it in ( I go mid to back top to keep away from pretty white teeth!) and just leave it completely alone the taste thing is more mild. Just my 2 cents. I can't imagine anyone not liking it.

The candy the OP was referring to is Salmiakki. But yes, General, or any "traditional" Snus for that matter, is an acquired taste. I remember liking snus with more pronounced flavours early on too. I still like them, mind you, but less so. Mint is fine of course, but I've come off the more exotic flavours like watermelon etc. I think most people go through that phase but eventually end up with a traditional snus or maybe a mint snus as their go-to.

Good luck. I did the same thing except Gotebourg Rape was in my head from reading snuson posts then I just went with the descriptions and bought the highest priced ones. I know that doesn't always mean anything but the one lower priced can I bought as an extra ( others were rolls) was icky bad...and I'm not in love with any of them yet. I also reasoned if it was available in loose it might mean something good. Like it survived long enough to rate that status, even though I don't know really where in the hierarchy loose stands...it just seemed right to me. Just too many portions! It helped me narrow the field. All my loose expensives tht I got in a roll are good BTW to me and I have successfully traded a few to try some random flavors while I wait for the next big order.
