Get some THUNDER FROSTED LOOSE!!!!!! IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!!
ALSO, try Prima Fint. These are both Loose-snus' varieties.
-Which by far are the best way to truly enjoy Swedish snus!

Prima Fint gets my vote. The stuff is insanely mellow with a very slightly sweet tobacco taste. It's one of my all time favorites.

Grov portion was an early favorite of mine. I also really like LD salmiak. If you like licorice, that's probably the best portion.

Northerner brand (TillCe) snus. As for the website, it has returned to good service again. Northerner went thru some bumps awhile back with a new website and switching the shipping from U.S. to Sweden for U.S. orders but they seem to have ironed out those issues.

Well, a couple more days under my belt and I picked up a can of General Wintergreen which I am really enjoying. Also I tried the General Nordic Mint and off the bat I like the mint and wintergreen better. I'm looking forward to ordering some other brands and flavors soon but it's nice to know that General is available at brick and mortars near me.

Just started two days ago and need some recommendations

First I like to thank you for taking the time to read this post. I have been a smoker for 4.5-5 years now, give or take, and im making my transition to Snus and so far, I love it. Im still getting used to it, but I see it's potential. Typically I smoke 5-7 cigs a day. Depending on whom I am with (friends are chain smokers) and if alcohol is involved haha. My first snus i'v tried was Camel snus frost and it tasted ok but didnt do much. Im liking the benefits of Swedish snus and at the moment I am currently trying out General White portions. It has a decent mellow buzz that gets me through the day, but Im not enjoying how salty the taste is. So my question to you pro snus-ers, whats a good brand to test drive? Im looking for a good buzz, doesnt have to be crazy, but nice to know Im feeling it. The taste is a must. Iv never liked menthol cigs so im not to curious about mint or anything like that. The brand of cigs iv been smoking for the last 2 years were Camel Royals, if anyone knows the brand. Any imput or tips are welcomed

                  Welcome to the forum Belatorius!

A couple of points here that may help

                  1. Almost everyone's first post talks about the saltiness of snus. Salt is a part of the snus making process and every authentic snus brand has it in it. That said...... in two weeks you wont notice it at all. Give you taste buds a little time to acclimate and you will be fine

                  2. As far as what to try next, try everything. There are a lot of wonderful snuses out there and half the fun is trying a new one. Also, snus tends to be different than cigarettes and dip in that most of us had "our brand" and we pretty much stuck to it. Snus is different in that most folks here have a rotation of favorites that they uses regularly (rather than just one kind). Try a variety and don't throw anything away....if you don't like it at fiorst stick it in the freezer and revisit it in a few months....your taste will change.....[and just to help you get your bearings as you explore....the snus you are using is a classic white regular strength.....that is it is the traditional snus blend of bergamot-tobacco flavor, it is a white portion (and thus dryer in the mouth)....and it is regular strength (8mg of nicotine)]

                  3. Finally, don't go chasing a buz. Snus is like anything else you will adapt and soon need stronger and stronger snus. Enjoy the flavor and let it ween you from the cigarettes

Anyway......welcome......hope this helps a bit.........try a variety and let us know what you find that you like/don't like
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I think Northerners http://us.northerner.com/swedish-snu...-snus-int.html are a great transition from smoking to snus without the salt burn that traditional snus has. Nice hit especially out of the gate and you can easily double barrel if needed. I like all the flavors except lemon and the flavorless wine and dine.

Hi there! I'm also about to start quitting cigarretes using snus. I, like you, smoke around 5-7 regular strenght cigarretes a day and I'll be also using General White as my first snus. My question is, when you pop a portion in, for how long does the need for nicotine go away? how many portions a day do you need to not smoke at all? I'm asking you because you seem, as I said earlier, to consume the same amount of nicotine as I do.

if it helps y'all at all, I just started snusing instead of dipping. I was dipping 1.5-2 cans a day. I first tried marlboro rich, peppermint, & spearmint & also camel mellow. I am now using general and have cans of white, original, & mint in the fridge that I'm using. I didn't find the flavor in the mint portions to be overly strong. I'm only needing 4-5 portions a day, but usually keep them in for an hour or longer, depending on how bad the drip gets. make sure if you buy general locally to check the used portion storage on the lid for a coupon. one shop I go to checks for me, while another doesn't.

@ Belatorius, I have noticed that Oden's products seem to taste less salty than Swedish Match.

Agree. I use both Islay and WD Cold and much less salt burn than General imo.

Well at first I couldnt keep the snus for any longer than 20 minutes but once you get past that, I could feel the nicotine. And it last quite awhile for me. So usually 2-3 a day and Im set. I still smoke the one cig in the morning but after than I can go all day with out one and feel pretty darn good.

2-3 portions a day is great, that's what I'm planning to use during the day and a prilla of lös at night after work
