Open Letter to Jimmy and Frank

In light of the recent cancelation of the Gotlandssnus Gra, I would like to propose a venture that may be lucrative for both Northerner and Gotlands as well as beneficial to the members of Snuson.

    Here is my idea:

Why not run a seasonal release of the three Gotlandssnus los (Plain, Green and Gul) exclusive to Northerner.

    However, here is the catch:

Set it up through Northerner as a preorder.

    This does several things:

    1. We get our beloved los

    2. It drives business to Northerner (and is great PR for both Northerner and Gotlands )

    3. It reduces the risk for Gotlands. They will know exactly how many cans they need to make prior to production. They could even make a few extra rolls to sell at Northerner and/or the Snuson shop as last chance for the season.

    4. Such a promotion would create year around hype for both Northerner and Gotlands. It would also keep both the product and the site in the spot light year around. People would constantly be coming back to see if the next seasonal snus was ready for preorder (thus creating an effortless buzz and site traffic). It would also give Gotlands the opportunity to see if a different approach (one with little risk) is actually a way to tap a smaller but nonetheless viable market. If it does not work, don’t do it next season. If it shows potential………..it is easy money.

    Sincerely,
    Dog

    Addendum:

My only concern with this is the FDA approval of the Plain and Green

However, since Plain is the base snus for Gul and Green is already approved in portioned form. It seems the FDA paperwork would simply involve amending what already exists and is already approved.

Otherwise…..Plan B is simply to kidnap Jimmy, his lab, and the los production line from the Gotlands factory and get him to make a “personal batch” before we release him……..I’m good either way

I like the idea too, but we'll see how it works out.

In addition to this being something SnusOn members will see and take part in, I'll write an article and run an ad for this on Snubie.com and our YouTube page as well to bring in additional sales.

Would like to see this happen.

The great thing is that if you look closely at their swords.....you notice they all have a folding spoon, saw, tweezers and a handy toothpick (which always seems to get lost) all built right in.............

Cool, a Swiss Army sword, could come in handy.

I think that's a great idea. The SnusOn shop in particular would make a good test bed for new ideas, both in site layout, and developing snus. It has enough separation from everyone that it can be played with without damaging the names of anyone involved.

As usual, another fine idea from The Dog.

Roderick Lawrie at Toque Snuff does something similar with his 'Xmas Pudding' variety. It's a limited seasonal run, available only from October-January. I'm not sure it would do so well as a year-round offering, because it's a very rich and pungent snuff. But, it is wildly popular during the holiday season---by the end of September, just about every Snuffhead around is looking for it to become available.

At any rate, as a seasonal or 'trial' offering, I'd write my name down for at least 3-4 rolls of Gul right now today.
