Finally, general at the gas station!!!

What a great thing. I'm low on portions so I decided to check the general store locator to see of any new locations are carrying general. Low and behold a gas station 1 mile from my place has mint and OP for 4.19, not bad at all I have to say. Prior to this all I had were cigar shops that charged 6-7 a tin.

I am jealous. I would love to be able to get a can of snus at the gas station on my way home. The only places that carry General here are the overpriced tobacco stores in the mall.

Good news mate, here petrol stations are always more expensive for cigarettes than supermarkets etc. One day I dream of when I can pick up a can of snus when I fill up the car!

General doesn't sell well here since we're in the dip belt. My local tobacco store sells it for less than 3 bucks a can.

You could do a roaring trade selling that on here!

Thought about that. Figured I'd end up with ATF agents at my door. Best thing is, with the 2.50 off one can coupons I get them for about 20 cents a can.

I could probably do good as well. There's virtually no oral tobacco tax here.

And there's probably as many Skoal cans in Kentucky as Southwest Virginia. It's hard to get those guys to try snus because most of the time they believe spitting=manly.

                  Sad story.

I have two areas near me that sell General.

They are hardly in date and the los is ALWAYS expired.

One of the tobacco stores actually had other snus there like blue ocean and thunder and one other I cant remember.

The sales are so slow that sometimes he just gives me cans when I buy because they arent moving.

I just wonder how SM is going about advertising. I mean you see dip ads in all sort of magazines and I have yet to see a single General ad, hell even Camel Snus has ads in popular magazines.

I just hope SM pushes harder in this market and does not give up. The fact I can buy around here is great but Swedish Match has a problem they must solve.

Just like with Copenhagen people always think if something is beyond its best before date then it is trash. The only way to combat that would either be to not list it or do like Copenhagen did and put a made ON date not best Before date.

This is a familiar story. My store has literally three snus customers. All three of them are dudes I've turned on to it. We try to buy up as much of their stock as we can to make sure they keep it in. What really sucks is trying to convince my wife that I need to go buy more when a $150 dollar Northerner order has just rolled in. Right now everything in stock is current except the los and wp. Sadly though, General is the only brand I can get locally as the closest store I can find on Northerner's distribution site is in Lenoire NC. If I'm not mistaken that's around 2:15 minutes from me.

When I switched from Marlboro to American Spirit cigs I had hell finding them when traveling, and I have traveled a lot. Then about the time I decided to switch to snus American Spirit brand was everywhere and finding it was easy. I bet if I quit snusing it will suddenly be on every store tobacco shelf in America. Now I travel less and also I am lucky General is available locally and has enough buyers to be fresh every time I buy it.

I try to do the same but when the General is almost $5 a can and most of the time near date or after I may by 1 or 2 cans, but I have pretty much been buying online cause it is cheaper and I am not a huge fan of it. Now if it was the only thing I could get then it wouldnt be the end of the world but its not my favorite.

I actually turned the one store owner onto it and he mentioned later others had asked about it but he had never heard of it. He carried Mint, Wintergreen, White and Regular, and Los.

I was excited to see it but it seems that it just isnt selling and he has moved the cooler to the back of the store where you cant even see it, which irritates me.

I just wish people would give it a shot.

You know how many people I run into have been brainwashed by moronic health nuts and tell me, " You know your lip is going to fall off. " I try to explain to them what snus is and they just tell me im an idiot and that all tobacco is bad and will kill me.

                        How can they fight propaganda?

The local tobacco shop around where I live quit selling General due to lack of demand, sadly.

Round can or coffin can? If it's coffin can, then the price is high don't you think?
