I tried the Search Tool but came up empty handed even though there is got to be a post about this already. My question is: Wasn't the standard number of pouches in portion snus 24? I counted mine a couple of years ago and have not done so until recently. I purchased 20 cans of Olde Ving (regular portion) and expected 24 pouches but only received 18. If memory serves me correctly, Thunder, be it a strong portion, used to ship with 20 pouches. If I was to purchase Offroad frosted regular portion I would get 24. Am I wrong? I think retailers need to state the number of pouches per can.
Portion snus, pouch number has been reduced?

Yeah ive heard people say its changed a bit.
Dont take my word for it but I heard some mention that is only .9 grams of snus per pouch now instead of 1 g. I do not know how it translates to pouches though because I think even when Gotlands launched the Jakobssons line that some cans could have more or less than others depending on the amount in each pouch, and this was before the reduction.
LX has a blog post which is spot on about the companies screwing us over and still charging the same amount.

As far as I know it depends on what company you buy your snus from. I use a lot of Swedish Match snus, I really like the traditional flavor profiles. Their portions are only .9g now but you still get 24 portions and the nicotine level is the same as before. Other brands I'm not sure about, I'm pretty sure Skruf portions are still 1 gram but you only get 22 portions...and so on. Basically all of the manufacturers lowered the actual weight of snus per can last year in portions and loose. They then all decided how to go about distributing portion weight/number of portions differently.

It depends on the company. I guess Swedish taxes went up, so many snus companies got clever, so their portions did not go up much. In Sweden, snus had always been cheaper than cigarettes which is a big selling point. That said, the snus companies are trying to stay the same way. Swedish Match just shrunk the portions to 0.9g per portion. GN just decreased the number of portions, but I think they used to have less than 24 portions anyway.
