IMO this is a religious issue. They see themselves as saints/Puritans and us as BDSM-porn makers.

Some are indeed puritans with a "religious mission", some are brainwashed do-gooders, most are probably just employees doing their job against their own better judgement.

Carl V. Phillips has a comprehensive list of anti - harm reduction - motivations on his new webseite "Anti-THR lie of the Day". It's very worth reading:

What more evidence do you need to take immediate legal action against the EU?? Blatant FALSIFIED evidence, that is called fraud, plain and simple!

unfortunately no one man (short of Bill Gates) could afford to fight a ban like that, and the gov't's know this. Tis a shame the fight would come down to how much money you got, but doesn't everything else in this world?

This is ludicrous. I'm going to find out who my MEP is and get an appointment - serious (the public are so disengaged from EU politics that very few actually vote or know who their MEP is - believe me). This is beyond the standard ridiculous dogma and slow boring bureaucracy of the EU ... this is actually both an illegal and deceptive act and against the health interests of the people they claim to represent.

Everyone in the UK who doesn't want a career in politics is entirely disillusioned by the bizarre complexity of the EU parliament - and from just looking in to who represents me I'm already dying of boredom ... but this is too important to ignore.

I agree, but a collective of snus companies could fight it, if GN teamed up with Swedish Match, Skruf, JTI and Gotlands et al then there would be (esp RE SM and JTI) unlimited funds to fight it. This needs to be brought to people's attention!

Unfortunately I don't think that's true ... if we're going to get them over this it has to be cleverer than a straight legal battle - I think we've got to catch them out with something that's a massive PR blow like MP's expenses in the UK parliament was. They've obviously been hiding evidence here and that might be enough ... the only MEP I can see who would benefit from trying to bring down the system is Farage, the others are just in it for the safe career in bureaucracy - much as I mistrust his motives and dislike some of his other policies, he is an eloquent speaker and seems to have created a character for himself challenging the top of the EU parliament ... for that I think he's definitely worth speaking to and sounding out with the facts we have seen here.

                        Cheers

Not just tobacco reports, what about the rest? How can you trust anything they come out with after this?

I have never been pro EU, I know because of the EU you can't buy baby bonjella in Ireland and a host of other things easily available here in the UK, we are forever sending stuff over to friends in Ireland that have been banned by the EU which every other MS ignores lol.
