    How important is vacuum sealing?

So, my ziploc pump keeps breaking, and I am sick of buying new ones. How much of a difference does vacum sealing snus bags make if all my snus that's frozen is unopened and ziplocked anyways? I have a water sprayer with some distilled water in it if my OPs dry out, and I don't want to buy another ziplock pump every month.

    Thanks for any help!

I think you should start a poll and ask people if they vacuum seal their snus; yes or no. I think you will find your answer there. Until then, my answer is: if it was that important, more people would vacuum seal. In the meantime, hardly anybody does and we're all fine. Skip the pump purchase every month and spend that money elsewhere.

I had snus stored for about 1 1/2 years when I was stocking up pre-PACT. I didn't vacuum seal anything. I did use the vacuum seal bags but I just kind of sucked as much air out of them as I could with a straw.

It did loose a bit of flavor over time and getting some fresh snus was welcome, but it did just fine. If you are trying to stock up years worth of snus in deep freeze you could get very anal about it, but why do that.

I order 8 or 9 months worth at a time and I don't worry about it. I think snus is very robust. I don't even use the straw anymore.

Having said that there is something about fresh snus that can't be beat.

I bag it in freezer bags, I try to get as much air out as possible. In general the minimum I try to do over that is not mix flavors in the bags.

This is what I do. I have snus from 2008, and it's fine. I keep like flavored snus together in the bags to keep them from crossing flavors, but otherwise I don't do anything special.

All I can say is that I have snus vacuum sealed and frozen for 5 or more years. I opened a tin of Triumph a few months back and it was just like new. I bought quite a bit of the coffee supreme thats recently been discontinued. I have several years worth of it stashed and I know it will be just like new by the time I get to it. With no flavor or moisture loss. Any snus I plan on haveing for more thatn a few months gets vacuum sealed and frozen. That jmo.

Just remember to freeze lös before you vacuum seal it, or you risk sucking the liquid juice out of the cans and into the bag (speaking from experience).

lol, really? That must have been some very moist los. I suppose that could happen. I know my vacuum sealer will suck the air out of the bag like crazy.

IMO, anything frozen up to six months is ok to just store the cans as normal. Longer storage than six months, vac seal is a must!

Same boat...I've had both and I couldn't tell any difference. I'll throw snus in a zip-lock bag before freezing, but that's it...no vacuum seal. Even long-term, I've never had any problems. Tastes all the same to me. Fresh snus on the other hand, there is no substitute (particularly los).
