I can get lös - At least for the next year.. But it's a hassle to use in school or at a bar since I get very dirty hands and when I work with the paper at school it gets smudged, and when I work the ladies late at night they get snus smudges on 'em - Something nobody is a fan of :P

General,Thunder,Skruf and Odens were my choices. Flavored Snus such as mint or licorice are not good with beer though.LOL.

Not brave. Addicted.LOL. Snus at $2 per day vs cigarettes at $20 per day.

A big thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and giving tips!

I only had one cigarette yesterday which was broken on the filter part, so I just smoked that one before going to bed. Did not really even think about smoking really. And I had a few beers as well (again, I'm not an alcoholic, but I drink more here for sure than back home. At most I drink 5 small beers here though, maybe two times a week. I think I have to quit that as well though and save it to once every two weeks or something like that, because it really is not good when trying to quit smoking.

Today though one of the customers at the place I worked light up all day long in the resturant, so without even blinking I found myself in the store with two packs of L&M Red in my hand. That was at maybe 13 o' clock. Now it's 21:27 in the evening and I've smoked 16 since, and I thought I smoked little today... I don't know if I have become immune to nicotine or something but the nicotine levels in cigs drop so fast I almost want another one immediatly after I've smoked one. With snus I do a looooooot less.

I have started drinking a loooooot of coffee here also, and I can feel almost a bit stressed towards the end of the day. And that's when I smoke the most. I think I subconciously think that a smoke will relax me and get rid of the caffeine jitters, but it doesn't. I don't know, haha. Maybe I have to quit coffee as well. That's almost more difficult than nicotine though, haha.

I will not smoke anymore today though. Not tomorrow either I think. And no after work beer now for a few days! Can't wait for my snus order!

Dude, just stop drinking for 2 weeks, and it will be much easier. Then start drinking again -- it's very dangerous not to drink alcohol.

Don't quit drinking coffee!? Are you insane?! If you do that your productivity goes down by 99% (Unless you're English, then you can just have some tea).
And slowing down on drinking isn't easy at a young age - I usually find myself going "I won't be going out tonight, I'll do my wallet and my health a favo-... Ohh, but all my friends are going out and they really want me there, I'd be rude to just decline" and the BAM I'm drinking again.
But sometimes I manage to lay off the cigarettes when I drink - I'm in Norway right now and I have several beers and I haven't craved a single cigarette. Maybe because I can't afford them, but still!
I think it just takes a lot of will and time - and even practice. Drinking a couple of beers and then just staring down that pack of cigarettes until someone asks if they can have one and you just go "Take the whole pack, I quit" <- That's what it's all about.
(If you understand that - I've had quite a few beers already, so I might not be making very much sense)

On the coffee thing: Switch up your coffee routine. If you usually use a lot of cream/sugar, try drinking it black for awhile. If you drink it black, try using some sugar and creamer in it. Doesn't sound like a big deal right? But switching up little habits like that can help you get used to a new habit that doesn't include smoking.

Can try the same thing with drinks. If you're a beer guy, trying having a few whiskey or rum and cokes instead. Or get something strong you wont drink fast and can just constantly sip on like a Black Russian.

Hahaha! I hear ya, but actually it has been the opposite for me lately with the caffeine. I drink coffee, feel awesome for an hour or two, then I crash and start feeling a bit edgy, jittery and irritable. And, I think I have a more difficult time falling asleep at nights (I stay up very late often) - which makes me have little sleep and crave coffee again the next day. A very bad cycle which I want to quit. The thing is I love the taste of coffee. I don't want to quit but at the same time I really do. Bah.

And about the drinking; since I came to Thailand I've been drinking about every single day for the past three weeks. Not a lot, but two-three times a week I've upped the dosage a bit. But now I'm quitting for a while, and I don't know about quitting coffee, but I want to try that as well.

And the cigarette smoking has been a disaster. Last night I think I smoked two packs at work. Today I threw my almost full pack of cigs away though - I don't want that stuff anymore. I got a crazy motivation now to fully quit as smoking really isn't fun anymore. Even the first one in the day with a cup of coffee taste like crap and makes me feel terrible afterwards. Snus is WAY more enjoyable.

Yeah for sure, I will do that. It's difficult when you work as a bartender abroad though. Drinking habits are much more liberarly looked at here. After work it's routine to sit down and have few cold ones after a long 14-05 shift while counting the money and making summaries of the reciepts. Also I've had a lot of people from Sweden here, who I bounded a lot with, and every night they were here they bought me beers and wanted me to raise a glass with them. And of course, the last day before they left we threw a party... haha, it's a disaster. I have to start saying no though, and now I will go a week or so without drinking.

Update: 10 days without smoking! A big ass party two days ago - I got severely drunken, but did not smoke a single cigarette! Smoked my last cigarette at new years eve and ended up throwing the rest of my pack away. I don't even miss it. This year will be a smokeless year!

I'd recommend any variety of General Extra Strong (long, portion, loose, etc.) or Lab Series 06/07. Once you use either on a regular basis, cigarettes will seem nicotine-free, and thus undesirable. I recommend Swedish Match brands because they have a high pH value.

I used to be like you -- I would chain smoke while drinking (1.5 to 2 packs) and feel horrible the next day. Now I can drink and have no desire to subject myself to the high toxin, low nicotine device known as the cigarette. However, I probably consume more nicotine now compared to when I smoked. Nevertheless, I'd rather consume more nicotine than inhale thousands of toxins.
