Agreed, my grandmother who is dying of lung cancer is a prime example. Also well known people like Barb Tarbox come to mind.

My dad did quit but not soon enough. Several years after he quit his problems started. COPD, lung cancer, etc. I showed dad my snus and told him about it. He understood and was fine with it. I don't let him see it or know I am using it out of respect but he was glad I quit smoking. He was so glad I quit smoking that you'd thought he won the lottery.

I too introduced my dad to the swedish stuff when he came home to visit once (long time smoker). He tried, but he didn't really like it. He got it though. He's also tried some e-cigs, but haven't talked to him in awhile to see if he's continued using them.

My mom, on the other hand, quit smoking when I was in 4th grade or so (34 now). I've explained it to her multiple times and she still thinks I'm going to have all the problems that come with american dip. She's glad I quit smoking since I started in high school, but she doesn't really understand about the reduced harm thing no matter what I say to her.

Seems some people will never get it. *sigh*

Tried giving the snus to my father, but he said it irritates the throat.

            He uses the nicotine gum.

The older I get, the less I care about what people think. I instruct, and they can believe and follow, or not. What others think has little relevancy to me. I see who gets elected to public office, I hear the music that gets played on popular radio, and I see what passes for entertainment on TV, and I can't bring myself to give a shit about their opinion.

Haven't smoked in a long time, but I never liked it at night. It always dragged me out, and put me to sleep. Early on a Saturday morning on a crisp fall day was more my speed :^)

My hat is off to you Sir.

I believe if more folks lived by this ethos, the world would be a much better place. I take your response as a positive statement.

                      Cheers Lxskllr

Dman parents can be a difficult convert. I am 32, but informed my mum about Swedish Snus....She did some of her own research and really supports it. Last time I was nearly out and planning an order in a few weeks, she offered to order for me!!!

All you can really do is give them information on Swedish Snus and let them form their own opinions. Hopefully they will come around, if not, you are still greatly benefiting from using snus as opposed to cigarettes.

                      Good Luck

It just so happened that way, and that is very true. I just recently left my hometown and am attending college.
