Nordic American Smokeless Launches its Klondike Snus Products
-- Nordic American Smokeless announced immediate availability of its eagerly awaited Klondike Snus. Klondike Snus has been developed for adult smokeless tobacco consumers who are unwilling to compromise taste or quality, yet would prefer a product that utilizes the Swedish snus manufacturing process. --

/24-7PressRelease/ - July 28, 2008 - "Our Klondike brand is built on the belief that traditional smokeless tobacco consumers should have access to the Swedish snus manufacturing process, which can provide low nitrosamine levels without compromising taste, quality, and overall tobacco satisfaction traditional adult smokeless consumers are accustomed to," said Nordic American's CEO Darren Quinn. "We believe the taste, quality and tobacco satisfaction is actually enhanced by our Swedish Snus Process ", Quinn added.

Klondike Snus is the first loose snus brand manufactured in the U.S., utilizing the Swedish Snus Process, which will make snus available in popular Fine Cut and Long Cut forms. Both Fine Cut and Long Cut are available in Wintergreen, Peppermint and Straight flavors. Pouches are also available in Wintergreen, Peppermint and Cherry flavors. Bill Eder, VP Marketing for Nordic American, said "we recognize the consumer base for the Klondike brand as the traditional adult moist smokeless tobacco consumer who is interested in trying snus in the forms they find appealing, and in a value-priced proposition." Eder added, "Klondike is available in 15-can and 10-can pre-packed displays as well as 5-can roll regular stock and will be supported by sales promotions, national media and traditional point-of-sale".

I'm crossing my fingers again; maybe something that tastes like real snus will be released. I've tried Triumph, closest so far but too sweet for me. Camel IMHO was garbage and should have been labeled 'Diet Iced-Tea Flavored Snus. Tourney was actually similar to Roots but with a weird stale pine flavor.

If they are making Straight, it should taste like "straight" which is a flavor that most dippers know. Nothing like any snus favor available.

I am interested in the longcut snus they mentioned. I have yet to try a long cut snus (the offroad is on the way), but I would think it would be the perfect way to do los. I admit that my theory is uninformed, but not for long... (hands rubbing together).

Ok, call me crazy(or stupid), but I've been curious about this Klondike Snus. I read all the bad reviews, but still it's one of those things I just gotta realize for myself, even if just to say I tried it.

So, as far as I know, it's not available locally, though I haven't searched either. But I saw they sold them at Northerner. I'm pretty well stocked on real Swedish snus, so not looking to make a real order right now, but I was mostly curious what postage was going to be from Northerner, especially if I ordered these from the US warehouse. But the site does not say, you have to go through the whole check out process to find out.

So I clicked a few Klondikes, and found postage to be $4. I pondered a few seconds then said F it, and clicked pay.

So, I guess soon I will satisfy my curiosity, and know myself how sucky these are. I figure I'd probably use them up anyway(I'm wack like that).

I'll report what I think. I'm going to the grocery tomorrow, and I'll be mad if they are on the shelf for half the price I paid. But I doubt it.

As a side question, how much is postage generally with Northerer from Sweden to the US? Say, like 10 cans?(for future reference, gotta get some Level man)

My April order was exactly 10 cans and was shipped by Swedish Post and shipping was $7.85. My order in May was 16 cans and was shipped by Swiss Post and was $8.35.

I "think" all packages (not going UPS) are by Swiss Post now.
Those prices are for portion snus. (Lös weighs more)

Klondike's "Fine Cut" has been out for quite a few months in this(S.E. Ohio) area. I haven't seen the pouches yet but the fine cut was pure garbage. It was nothing more than dipping snuff, that was originally supposed to be pasteurized. I guess in the minds of Nordic American that would make it snus, or they just think snus sounds cuter than snuff. I'm really not sure because they've resorted to having Swisher make this so called "snus" now and Swisher is notorious for having the highest TSNA levels among American dipping snuff brands. Google or Bing the TSNA levels for KAYAK or SILVER CREEK and you'll know what I'm talking about there. It seems like the more "American Snus" I see, the more fearful I become of this PACT legislation.

I got some Klondike Long Cut WG, Straight and Peppermint.

This moist snuff is 99% Dip and 1% Snus. The 1% being its curing process. Everthing resembles dip and works best if used like dip i.e a big pinch in the bottom suck spit the juice. It looks like dip it smells like dip and tastes for the most part like dip. It is very similar to Grizzly Wintergreen.

There is no way I could gut the juice from this snuff its too strong and would make me gag.

The nicotine hit from this snus is awsome. I reviewed it on youtube.
