    Tobacco Quality Questions

Tobacco quality varies dramatically across products, I have heard. Cigarettes use the lowest quality tobacco, pipes use the medium quality tobacco, and cigars use the highest quality tobacco. What type of tobacco is snus made of?

Now, I know that Swedish Match always claim that they use the highest-quality tobaccos, but I am dubious. Doesn't snus normally contain stems? After all, this is why we have premium, Kardus-type snuses. Also, I would think that snus would be even more expensive if it used only the best tobacco, because there would be significant amounts of hand-selection involved in choosing the tobacco leaves.

I would be particularly interested in hearing from an insider, like GN or Rick Charles...

Best is subjective, and it depends on what you're making. AFAIK, there's no tier system with tobacco. A premium cigarette tobacco would likely make a crappy snus.
