Will snus affect my blood draw?

So, I am seeing a new doctor, and he wants to take a sample of blood at 8:30 tomorrow morning. So nothing but water after 9 tonight. That is fine, I popped in a snus, until I just now realized that snus could affect a number of the variables he might be testing for. Maybe? I dunno? It's currently a little before 10, and I just took my snus out in fear, but does anyone know if snus affects... you know... doctor testing type stuff?

No, it shouldn't affect anything... Then again, I have no idea what sort of lab work your doctor ordered... However, since you absorbed a minute level of nicotine (and assuming the doctor didn't mention anything about tobacco use), you should be fine.

If you need a fix, I would suggest spitting any excess saliva that comes from snussing... Just to be safe.

Unless he's checking blood pressure you should be fine. Nic might raise a bit for a moment.

I always get my blood work with a portion in (sterk), as a matter of fact, when I have the portion in while getting BP checked, it's always lower while snusing than while not.

That's interesting. Maybe there's some point where it levels off because it's relaxing you?

i have some ongoing health problems that cause me to go to the doc a lot. I have test ran like other people change their socks. Don't worry about the snus unless you are having a test ran where they run a camera inside of you. The snus color will cause them not to be able to see in there. In those cases I suggest northerners purified snus because it don't turn your spit brown. Otherwise, it's not going to affect test enough to care about other than maybe blood pressure.

One word of advice. Unless you feel like being preached to on the dangers of tobacco take your snus out before doc looks in your mouth.
