Portions keep breaking?

Before I put a portion in my mouth, I roll the tobacco around so its evenly spread in the portion

20-30% of my portions snap at one end when I do this. Some of the other portions break in my mouth and start leaking tobacco

Is there anyway to avoid this? Is it worth a try to return the tin and complain?

The past two tins of snus, I have had this problem. Before I never had this problem

What brand and style? Some break more easily than others. I wouldn't roll it around; no more than a quick squeeze anyway. There's only so much you can do with portion material, and if it were made very tough, it would be uncomfortable to use. Well, /more/ uncomfortable to use anyway :^D

hahah very true. The softness of the material makes it comfortable

General wintergreen

General wintergreen has known issues with breaking. I suspect the flavoring breaks down the seal. Catch Eucalyptus does the same, but not quite as bad. There isn't much you can do, but try to be gentle with them.

That has troubling implications. That would indicate that wintergreen is the strongest snus for breaking out of it's bonds. The strong survive, and the weak are noted in history books D^:

As other have said, it's the portions. I've had a few tins of General WG where at least 1/2 the portions burst open. I've also had a few tins where no portions were broken. When you buy General WG, you roll the dice.
