    Camel Snus

Is terrible. Yea, yea, you all know that, but I've just been getting reacquainted with it. I had some in the freezer, and the rectangular tins don't stack well with the round, so I put them in the fridge, and I'll soldier through them till they're gone. I'm not a fan of portions anyway, so this is just a little more misery on top of a sub-par experience. What pisses me off is the flavor pollutes a good snus like Ettan lös because the flavor melds with my lip, and I taste it, and its sweetness long after the "snus" is gone. It ruins the taste of real snus after it's gone. I've finished up a tin of Mellow, and I still have Frost, Robust, and Spice to go through :^S

At least the tins are nice. I like metal tins...

Honestly if the damn things had any nicotine in them they might could actually help people quit smoking. That's really the worst part of American snus to me, is there isn't enough nic to satisfy a smoker, because they don't want them to quit smoking.

I loved the taste of Camel Snus when I first started snusing, and I strongly disliked swedish snus when I first tried it. But the lack of nicotine in the American stuff drove me to real snus. Honestly I'm glad it did, I don't know how I used those sickly sweet Camels. So maybe I shouldn't be mad that the american snus lacks nic?

I'm so confused. I need some more coffee.

Dude, if you are not getting any benefit whatsoever out of the horrible camels, might as well throw them out. While it is true that the money is a sunk cost, might as well not add to that cost with the dissatisfaction you get from the awful flavor. Just throw them out.

It might come to that, but I'm a cheap ass. My frustration level will have to go up another couple notches before I get rid of it :^D

I had to try camel mellow. It's so flat and leaves a taste behind. I needed to put some good stuff in to get that taste out of there. Online says its 8 nic though. It's just completely wrong. I'm still trying to get used to the salt but everything else has been good with 4 of my 6 flavors. Goteburges Rape, G. Prime Fine ?, Rode Lacket?, Skruf ES,
Thats fine by me. I might use my rejects to do a rough WTA make it at home recipe with the oil, vitamin C, soda bicarbonate and distilled water and flavor it as needed and vape it for interest sake

yep. the mellow lasts way too long in the sweet department...and the others suck too, I might add. A quick brush of the teeth/mouth, or a shot of listerine will do the trick. You are a better man that I, lxskllr. I just bought some expensive little tins that I keep little things in. They fit perfectly into my drill case and fit a couple dozen screws...which might taste better than that Camel anyhow.

I did read somewhere, maybe it was hearsay, that Camel was planning a radical change to their snus lineup. At any rate, I think their whole MO is to string you along 'till you can have than next butt so it's likely to be virtually devoid of nicotine still.

Isn't the free nic levels on par with swedish, but the ph lower so not much absorbiton of nic? Could solve their prob there in the nic department, taste is another matter.

I remember the frustration of trying to use this stuff while waiting on a new order. All the marlboro just tastes like cigarette ash. The skoal stuff is so sweet and odd tasting it clears my nose just by tasting it. And the camel is just not snus. Luckily it looks like here in central IL there are atleast a lot of places i can get general, hell i was looking around the general locator and Streator has about 3 locations, despite it being the birthplace of HepC

After receiving a coupon for a tin for $1 and having a once glorious snus stock depleted down to a tin of mini mints, I picked up a tin of robust a week or so ago. I had a coupon to buy a tin for $1. I Would never have paid the >$5 price tag.

I found the mouth feel to be surprisingly comfortable, additionally the nic hit was better than expected though this is likely do to using mini mints sparingly at that point. The flavor despite its incredible sweetness was tolerable, though turns wretched after 45 mins. Also, 4 or 5 of the portions broke at the ends during use. Upon removing the snus, it resembled a dip pouch more than that of swedish snus, so I'm a bit curious of the pasteurization process along with ingredients.

From a marketing standpoint, perhaps the sweetness of this product appeals to the greatest segment. It can potentially get 18 year old girls interested in tobacco due to the can design and candy-like taste. Everyone else using this product will likely only do so sparingly, at times when they cannot dip/smoke, and will return to smoking due to the horrid taste, but will continue to buy this product due to its discreetness.

                    Is mellow/spice/frost better than robust?

                      I don't think Spice is available anymore. Mine's a collectors item :^D

Robust was my least favorite flavor, but I really don't like sweet and citrus together. I don't care for Jakobssons strong classic either. They're all too sweet, and someone might like it for a nic infused candy sort of flavor, but if I were out of snus, I'd use something like Copenhagen rather than Camel.

Camel mellow is great. it taste just like Golden Crisp Cereal and has the same amount of nicotine. The great part is a while back i found a can in my toolbox that had to be a year old and it was just as fresh as the day i bought it. Cant do that with General.

LoL! I guess it's all about perspective. Camel, for nuclear Armageddon. It's as good as the day you bought it!

OK just think about that for a second............snus is a leaf.............like lettus..........would you not wonder what they did to your salad if you left in the workshop for a year.........came back............and it had not changed a bit..........

and no you cannot do that with General..............or any other Swedish snus............for which I am forever grateful

Seriously....I am not trying to pile on.........but after 25 years of dipping...........I have an inherent distrust of American tobacco............If you like it......... use it.......... but just know it is different .............and all the benefits you hear told about Swedish Snus do not apply.......just be informed.....that's all
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
