    General Titanium = General Onyx???

My tobacco shop just started selling something called General Titanium. The portions are totally black but dry like a white. Smells and tastes a little better than white too. Is this what Swedes know as General Onyx?
Damn it's pretty strong too. I haven't had a buzz in weeks.. not really liking this much nic in my head lol.

    Have you tried it?

neat. i liked the onyx. yeah, presentation was probably part of it.

i may be way off, but didn't they change onyx to a white portion material? maybe lost market and trying to reclaim with a "re-launch"?

I don't know.....Onyx is far more amped up than General white flavor wise....much richer.

So your statement that it smells and taste a little better or different than the white makes me wonder if this is not a new product being tested in the Canadian market. If it was Onyx I would have expected you to notice a far more pronounced difference...........However, that said........everyone's taste is so different that maybe it is Onyx and we are just picking out different things from it to focus on.......

Regardless, I certainly would be glad to see SM returning this product to market

One thing that bodes well for it being Onyx is that the portion material is black.................Onyx was changed to white………… but only for the American Market (if I remember correctly). I think the problem with the black material was an FDA issue with the black dye used to color it................. as such...........the black material would not be an issue in Toronto. Therefore, if Onyx was being re-released outside the USA, it would not be surprising to find it in its original black

In the end, if you have ever had Nic and Johnny original (or Original Edge as it is labeled now)..............is has a very similar flavor profile to Onyx.......just a tad less rich

Thus if it taste like N&J (rather than General white) it just might be our old friend
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I wrote about it last year:
          http://chadizzy1.blogspot.com/2012/0...2012-snus.html

          It's a Canadian market product.

One of four being introduced and tested there:

General Smooth Taste: Mild and balanced tobacco mixture with explicit notes of dried apricot, chocolate and with a pleasant tone of dark tobacco.
General Original: Full-bodied, spicy tobacco taste with pronounced notes of bergamot and hints of hay, green grass and stable.
General Mint/Fresh Taste: Mild and sophisticated tobacco mixture flavored with balanced peppermint and with notes of fresh eucalyptus together with exotic herbs.
General Titanium: Full-bodied, spicy tobacco taste with fresh notes of bergamot and hints of sweet licorice
