Enjoy the early years, they go SO FAST. My son just turned 4, and is starting school in the fall. My daughter is almost 3. It's a great journey. 18 years is gonna fly, though.
When you feel a hand rest upon your Mum,
And you hear the sound of a low deep hum,
I hope you know, and to yourself think gladly,
This touch and voice is of my Daddy.
It's still early days but you've got my heart,
And I know that this is just the start,
Because from now on and forever more,
I will love you, cherish you and always adore.
Every day my love for you grows,
And I hope to you this already shows,
I will do everything I can to make you see,
That you will always mean the world to me.
And from today until the day you're born,
I swear to keep the oath I've sworn,
You and Mum will always be cared for,
Protection is the oath I swore.
Not just to protect, but to always love,
Because you were a gift from above,
I never thought I would feel this way,
But now I can't wait until next May.
For when the day that you arrive,
I would have never before felt so alive,
You'll bring a tear straight to my eye,
And you'll look at me and you'll know why.
Because you will be the greatest gift,
And my heart and soul you will uplift,
That feeling there will be hard to beat,
From that moment on my life's complete.
But for now you sleep inside your Mummy,
Keep warm and snug inside her tummy,
And I'll look forward to the day you're here,
To take my heart when you appear.
So when you feel that hand on Mum,
And hear the sound of my low deep hum,
I know you'll know and for that I'm glad,
That here with Mum is your very proud Dad.
Congratulations, kids are lots of fun. Some say it's hard work, but I think that's bullshit. You only work when you don't like the job. Everything else is just part of the routine, and are steps to a finished process. Enjoy it :^)
That's awesome news! Like the other fathers here, Id just tell you to get ready for the best experience you'll ever have.
There will be a lot of changes in your relationship with Mom too. Just keep in mind she cant help it but you wont matter as much anymore. It can be a shock to a man who is used to being the center of his wife's attention.
The most important thing a man can do for his children is be there. It is one of the crucial factors in a child's life!
CONGRATS DUDE!! I'm a father of 5 and each and every one of them is special, enjoy them while they're young. There will come a time that your child is a teenager and you'll wish that you could go back to those sleepless night, where you just sat awake holding your child. Wondering why he/she isn't asleep and just talking to them about anything, praying they go to sleep. I long for those days again, bro. Enjoy those moments, they're special. Also, don't let the crying get to ya....it's the ONLY language they know ;-) I'm sure they get frustrated because WE don't understand...ahaha.
My lil girl being 20 as of this month, knowing she may move on soon makes me miss her when she was small.
If i was in better health,
Id want another lil girl...
