    I like 'em both

I like to do some loose each day when I come home from work, it is a very pure snus experience. That said, the majority of my purchases are portion snus because it's simply easier and more appropriate on the job. I really thought that I would have to force myself to deal with portions, but the Swedish folks know how to do it right, so it was a very easy adjustment.

I agree that the original portions seem stronger out of the gate with some snus. I tried recently Skruff Stark and Strongcut in portions and they are serious! They will put a serious hurtin' on your gums if you don't watch out.

Lucky for me my favorites are available in both Portions and loose. I have had a few portions where there is no loose for that brand which always bums me out.

I actually began with pouches, but since only lös snus is legal in Denmark I quickly had to try it out. And I liked it from the first out-of-balance-pris, I had under my lip. I only use it at home though - as a snuser i DK you're kind of lonely, and if you don't want to be in the center of every friggin' crouds curious eyes, the pouches are the best way to avoid it. Also - I have a halftime job in a bookstore, and we can't have messy fingers all over the fresh'n'crispy pages, can we?

When it comes to lös I use:

      1: Skruf
      2: Göteborg Rapé
      3: Röda Lacket

      And for portion it goes:

      Mostly Göteborg Rapé og General.

The only brands you can buy i Denmark (as far as I know) is General, Skruf and Diplomat, and it seems that only place is 7-Eleven. But its not really bugging me; I live in Copenhagen and Malmö is only 30 min. away in train. Nothing better than standing in snusens own land on a cold winterday with a burning fresh feeling spreading from the fiery center under the lip to the rest of the - by then - melting corpus. I really enjoy those supply-trips ...

      Best wishes.

Hahaha yeah that's sweet man. Just jump in the train and in half an hour you're in Sweden.
I gotta visit sometime in the future.

Yeah, you should really do that. It's not that far from Holland at all.

And when you enter a swedish shop and see the traditional glassdoor-fridge filled with sweet, sweet snus, it's all worth it, I promise.

          (and now: Skruf-time!)

Only been once to Sweden, but seeing a snus fridge in nearly every shop was indeed a beautiful thing!

I've often dreamed of seeing this in the UK My girlfriend stills smokes and doesn't see the attraction of Snus but I'm sure if she ever tried it she would ditch the cigarettes and be hooked with me. I did suggest a holiday in Sweden but she saw through my plan

                  That was just my thought!

BTW, what's with the sudden spambot attacks? Can't they be blocked?

I took a note of the Spammer's IP Address before I zapped their posts.

Zero - Can we block IP Addresses?

Yeah, we can block IP addresses. I haven't been noting them down as spammers tend to hijack, mask and proxy their way around so it's tough to trace them. We get more spam than most people even see - I usually delete a few threads per day! I suspect they're bots, actually, not even people, that trawl for phpbb forums and can register an account and post spam automatically. Ice would have to enable or install the anti-spambot thing that gives you a field in which to type in a short alphanumeric code that's all psychedelic and scrambled up (since the bots can't process it). That would stop most of it, I think.

not to mention the spammers are messing up the Memberlist by having their 'one-time' user id added

Yeah, can't do anything about that. I can only delete the spam but don't have any admin rights to start deleting users :?

Yup. A captcha screen would help a bit.
Although I've read on /. that soon enough there'll be botware that can successfully overcome even capthas.
                              Oh well..
I was just a bit shocked that this forum went from 0 to many in no time.
                              But that's software.

The site's getting more posts so it bumps up higher in google searches as it gets more popular - thus more spammers find it easily. True enough about the botware, it's just a matter of time before pattern recognition gets good enough to sort out scrambled pictures, but it would still help in the meantime. By that time there will be other features you can add into your sign-up pages. At least so far it's always easier to create tests that humans can do better than computers than it is to create programs to solve them. I guess one day, though, we'll have intelligent, self-aware computers that are superior to humans in every way...we can only hope, I suppose, that they will choose not to voluntarily enslave themselves to exploiting humans by cooperating with self-serving spam-mongers
