I just got my sampler pack from Northern today - only 5 days to the West Coast!!

I feel like a kid in a candy store - which one to start with????

It came with 6 mini's and 18 "regular" portion's....

Oh, this is going to be an adventure!!

Like I've said in some other posts - I'm a snus noobie, so it's all fun!!

Beginning of a wonderful, obsessive journey. You MUST post as you try things and let us know what you think. One of my greatest joys here is hearing the reactions of new folks. Just makes me remember like yesterday when I first discovered snus and it helps remind me what a joy it all is.

So???? Which one did you try first??

I tried the Onyx first.....

Why? Simple, I liked the can....

And I'm happy to report that I didn't choke to death - Onyx is on the back burner (or I should say the door of the freezer)....

Right now, I'm enjoying an Ettan regular - not bad at all.

I can tell I'm going to have to get used to the saltier flavor, but that's OK - I'll work thru that.

Already in my work bag is the 2 can's of Skruf (one's green the other's a purple), my trusty General Wintergreen and the Ettan.

The real fun part will be in another couple of days when I get to see what the buysnus folks sent....

I placed order with both places in case something went wrong, one of those 50/50 chance things....

If I get the second order, I should have enough snus to last a month (or more!!)

I will tell you, the salt thing mostly to entirely goes away. It is what everyone first notices, but use for a week or two, and it really does fade into the background.

Ettan was the first snus I ever tried. Good, but I have one's I prefer more now. I love the Onyx, but do to cost issues, that is an only occasional purchase for me.

My current top 5 are (and these change frequently)

Retro White portion
Lucky Strike White portion
Mocca +
Nick & Johnny original portion
Knox portion
General Sterk

I do remember trying out the General Los... spat it out in less than a second because it's too salty. But seriously, after a while, you don't notice the saltiness and actually crave for it. Sagedil, Toolboxe! thanks guys! It's soooo true regarding the taste! I used to like the Camel Snus very much, but right now, I can't even imagine buying, much less using one. Your tastes will change, just go thru each and find the one you like the best!

P.S. Haven't had a cig in a month! One more thing, I can't stand the smell of cigs because of snus!

Seriously, you will learn that all of us have our different tastes, Snus is just that way. What one person loves, another might hate. No one will EVER get offended about your personal tastes.

I mean, look at me, I champion Elyxr energy. And Xobeloot is even crazier than me. He craves Phantom Blue for God's sake.

So be proud of your tastes. You never have to excuse what you like or don't like

Nick and Johnny, the original strong portion, good after a six pack of beer =P, I ordered two from my initial order... going to finish it last as back-up snus when I run out of my favorite ones!

Without beer... it tastes like... ummmmm errrrr.... a bit of tobacco and slight piss taste.... PEACE SAGEDIL!!!!

Seriously, when I started Nick and Johnny I liked it, it's ok, but the longer I used it, the weirder the taste, you have to sample, and like the snus veterans xobeloot and sagedil here, your taste is going to change big time.

I used to not like the taste of N&J because it was a little too sweet for my taste. Now I think my brain automatically associates it with my early morning nic kick and I crave the taste when I wake up.

I say, put it aside for a month, then try it again. I would bet BIG dollars that you love it when you come back to it. As I say, it's the way of snus.

I'm not a big fan of N&J either. I don't dislike it, but there's too many snus' I enjoy more to worry about getting it. The lös I didn't care for much at first, but it really grew on me as I finished the can. SM then promptly discontinued it just to screw me over :^/

I got a can of the N&J strong in the variety box - I guess I'll have to try that tonight.

So far, most of them taste like I've put a block of salt in my mouth.

I'm slowly beginning to get some flavor (one of those ex-smoking things)...

I guess using american dip kinda cured my tastes buds of that , but i have been searching high and low for a salty snus.

Ive have yet to find one that satisfies in that department but i love snus all the same.

I love N&J Orig & West. I love Giotlands Gul Los, Landstroms, and Skruf.

I just never got that salt taste, kinda sux.

It's getting less and less, but the first couple tasted to me like I had a mouth full of salt water. I drank a LOT of water to knock that down.

But, I'll take the salt taste so long as I don't light them damn cig's!! (so far, all snus - no cig's; day 3.....).
