    Recon in Snus?

Anyone have any idea whether or not recon tobacco is used in any Snus brands? Upon opening one of the pouches in one brand in particular I noticed that what was in there does not look like tobacco, or at least not all tobacco. I know much of the tobacco in premade cigs are full of the stuff, do the Swedes use it to make the cheaper brands too?

I don't think so as recon is usually fermented and heat-cured. Knox definately isn't as I've gotten stems.

I guess since I RYO my smokes, I was expecting something that looked like tobacco, or even like Los and it didn't. When I broke it open, it was very pale and had a grainy feel to it. Now i'm curious what some of the higher priced ones look like inside. :?

It will look darker depending on how much moisture it has, los has a higher moisture content to facilitate baking.

Well I don't know what alls in there, but some of the other portions I opened are black inside, almost like Los. When I say recon though, I really just meant non-tobacco fillers, and I don't think recon is necessarily fermented either, but it is made sorta like paper and does use heat I believe. No matter in the end, whatever it is tastes good and contains nicotine.

I had brought up this topic some time ago. Here was my comparison photo.

Offroad Cran Los on the left, Offroad Strong Cran Portion on the right

Kinda crappy pic, but the color difference is major.

Hah! I didn't wanna mention names.....but thats the one I'm referring to. It almost looks and feels like sand (only not that hard), had me wondering whats in it. Won't make me stop using it though, it's one of the few Offroads I've cared for so far. So the Los is much better you think?
