From Wikipedia....
The European Union banned the sale of snus in 1992, after a 1985 WHO study concluded that "oral use of snuffs of the types used in North America and western Europe is carcinogenic to humans", but a WHO committee on tobacco has also acknowledged that evidence is inconclusive regarding health consequences for snus consumers.[citation needed] Only Sweden and EFTA-member Norway are exempt from this ban. A popular movement during the run-up to the 1994 referendum for Sweden's EU membership made exemption from the EU criminalization of snus a condition of the membership treaty. This may be due to taxation reasons.
Recent actions by many European governments to limit the use of cigarettes has led to calls to lift the ban on snus, as it is generally considered to be less harmful than cigarette smoke, both to the user[citation needed] and to others.

Too Dangerous for your health??? Health Police now?
While, I am in favor of not using any kind of government funds or programs, to treat any self inflicted illness or injuries. I do not think a government should have that much power.
Lets just clear the air here and now. I am a quiet, but strong "Ronald Reagan" like conservative..
*Not wanting to start a polictical debate either..I respect your views and values.

Very scary.

If any individual lacks the intelligence necessary to moderate any behavior, passing laws proclaiming it's unsavoryness are not the answer.
If any individual is intelligent enough to weigh the pros and cons of actions they take and decide to partake in a behavior, who can justify denying anything that causes no harm to others.
And the socialist arguments of health care being a burden to society as a whole only gets me onto another tangent.
The more rights we allow to be stricken the more liberties will be infringed.
If I feel like drinking a case of beer and driving please stop me.
If I feel like eating a double cheeseburger and snusing half a can of skruf stark at one time, government should stay out of my life.
If I get sick and have no job or recourse I do not expect society to rescue me. Especially if it is due to a lifestyle I chose.

I'd rather live here where I can break my leg and not worry about how I'm going to pay for it, where we have very little censorship on publicly broadcasted TV, where there isn't a religious majority that have to be pandered to and courted by politicians, where nobody complains about real science being taught in school, where gun crime is so low that 5 shootings in a month would make the news, but then that's just my lookout

Don't forget if someone breaks in your house to harm your family you can shoot them.
The majority of murders here are criminal vs. criminal.
I feel a lot better knowing I can own a gun to defend myself, and that our police carry them too.
If I break my leg without health insurance I highly doubt any hospital in the world would turn me away.
Thanks, I'll keep as much of the money I earn as I can.
Aren't all forms of government social experiments anyway? Wake me up when we get to Utopia.
