I know it's been said before by many here, a million times, that Offroad snus is nasty (for lack of a better word). But, being the rebel that I am, I didn't believe it. I had to try it for myself.

I opened my can of Offroad Cranberry portions I recieved today and took a good wiff (as I always do; as a good aroma from my snus sets the stage for the joy that is about to come). Lo and behold, the smell was HORRID! I've tried just about every portion at buysnus and none ever smelled this odd. It turned my stomach!

Not wanting to admit defeat by accepting that most reviewers here were right. I went ahead and popped it under my lip. EGAD man, what's in this?! It was disgusting and did not get any better after some time.

I spit it out and threw out the can. Never again! I admit I was wrong thinking that everyone who doesn't like V2's products were exaggerating how bad they were. The Cranberry portion was bad. I don't think it was the Cranberry flavor itself (as I like Skruff Tranbar). There base tobacco product is just plain disgusting to me (my opinion, I know others like it). Why is it so different, in a bad way, than any other snus product? I am dumbfounded. Well, that's what I get for offhandedly dismissing others opinions. I'll pay more attention in class here from now on

Well... I was anxious to try the Coffee Vanilla and took a can in trade. Upon first taste, I'd have to say I didn't really love it either. Matter of fact, I was going to re-trade it or trash it, but held on and re-sampled it a few days later. I admit that it has a funky artificial taste, but I got past that. It mellows to something less funky and I find I like it with coffee in the AM. True it's not wonderful wonderful but I don't think it's bad now. I finished the tin and re-ordered.

I haven't tried any of the other Offroad 'flavors', but I've read (here in the forums), some nice things about the Cranberry, so I've ordered some of that as well. We'll see...

Something like this can be a nice break from the more traditional brands & flavors. The moon does turn blue once in a while.

I like the Wintergreen, I really do.. I have also tried the Cranberry and Apple. They both tasted like Foot, Ass, and 5 types of wild onions.

Everyone has different tastes, but I have never had any Offroad flavor that tasted bad enough to throw out. I shudder to think how some people claim to know what "ass" tastes like. I still think any Offroad/Phantom (both made by V2 tobacco) flavor is light years better than anything produced for the American market, ie:Camel snus. I do agree that the Offroads have a distinct chemical, or "manufactured" taste. The American Wintergreen is not much different than any wintergreen flavor in American 'chew', like Skoal etc. The Offroad Apple is kinda gross, but grew on me, not a big fan of the cranberry, with all of the other premium brands that offer a real cranberry flavor, like Skruf. Offroad Icemint and Wintergreen seem to be the least offensive, IMO. Of course, my first couple of snus orders, I wasn't trying these flavors for taste, but for the fact that I needed nicotine. They serve that purpose as well as any snus. Coupled with the fact that I can get 3 cans of Offroad for what I used to pay for one pack of American Spirit Light cigarettes, I may just order the 2 mint varieties again.

I've ate ass before and liked it. It is not always a negative taste, just an actual flavor profile.

OMG Dead Rabbitt!! All this time I thought you had a real beard and moustache. :shock:



MY 2 top favorites are the Offroad Coffee/Vanilla and the Triumph mint. Theres just something about the coffe/van that I like over all the other snus. I am not happy with the texture of the pouch tho. It could be alittle smoother.
