I'd like to be able to enjoy lös. So far I am loving portions, but have only tried Probe los. I really do like the flavor. It's very different from all the portions I've had, and is quite enjoyable to me. But los is too much a pain to deal with for me. Now I've read lots of icetool reviews here and see that it makes it very easy, no baking, no mess, very quick, etc... But my 1 remaining question is can you make a hard/firm enough pris with the tool so that it will not break apart and melt away? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the investment--worried that after I buy it I still wont like los, then I'm stuck with a $40 tool and 3 cans of lös that I won't use...
Ice tool or no:?:

one thing you must realize is that all los at some point will break apart and start to slide. Its usually an hour to an hour and a half for me.
I have an icetool and love it. The pris it makes is a perfect cylinder and holds up great as it gently contours to your gums.
Its a pretty much fool proof device and i promise you, i you want to get the best experience with your los its worth the money.
Ill also let you know that good los is like fine wine. At first you only taste the subtle initial flavor but after using los for a while now you start to actuallly taste the background flavors and undertones.
Keep us up to date on your experience.

If you're not sure about los yet, you can pick up a prismaster for a couple of bucks; it's simple, but it gets the job done fairly well for what it is.

You should buy a prismaster first and use it with los and then judge if los is your thing.
Keep in mind that the icetool makes a better shaped pris but both make a firm one. The shape the icetool makes is my preference to the prismaster.
Los just takes some getting use to and after all is said and done you may jsut find yourself loving los as i did and as many others have.
Theres nothing really all that special about it , its jsut personal perference. Do whatever suits you, thats all that matters,

You can also go to a pharmacy or vetrinary supply store and pick up a 3cc. syringe without a needle. The end has to be cut off (hacksaw works) and filed down for comfort. The end of the modified syringe is then pressed into the Los (I like to fill it to the 1.5cc. line) and the plunger can be worked to compact the pris to desiered firmness. Then you can "inject" the pris into your upper lip. Works just fine, altought, I've never used it in a public place
I got this tip from this web site. Seems alot of people use this method and are happy with it untill they get an Icetool.

I hardly feel qualified to say this, since I'm still on my first can of los (General...so tasty), but why use an icetool? I watched zero's video about 300 times, and I've been hand baking like a champ ever since. I keep a pris in for anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, and I get minimal breakage. I think that the advice that everyone gives ie., don't poke the pris with your tongue, don't suck on it, etc. are good ones and no matter what you pack your pris with (your hand, an icetool, some usb device that has yet to be invented...) it's going to fall apart sooner or later. I say just hand bake it and go from there.

I got my Icetool about three weeks ago and since then I don't think I've hand baked once
I've also started adding more cans of lös to my orders, just because the Icetool has made it all so simple and convenient that it doesn't matter if I use portions or lös......
Yes, you can hand bake like a champ after watching the video, or do a bonde once you go pro, but the Icetool is a thing of convenience. And that was its main selling point for me.
IMO the pris is as firm as one that is hand baked.
It's not cheap but I personally think it's worth it, and superior to the syringe method (although the latter is useful when deciding if you want to buy an Icetool as it is a close approximation)

I used to use a prismaster all the time for my los, but for the last 6 months I have been hand baking and I won't go back. Mainly because the prismaster doesn't make a big enough pris for me. But one thing you gotta know is that it takes a while to learn how to use los and keep it tight and together under your lip for a long time. When I first started los I had trouble keeping it together for 30 minutes to an hour. Now I keep my los in for an average of 4 hours and rarely have it come apart ever. I can keep it together for all 4 hours without problems. The only ones that can cause my problems are the fine ground stuff like roda and prima fint. Other than that I have no issues at all. It just takes time and some experience. If you do it enough you will get it down easy. After a couple weeks of using los all the time it gets a lot easier. Good luck and keep it up.
We need more los users so they bring out more los flavors. I am sick of all these portions getting some really interesting flavors while the los is losing more flavors then gaining.

Yeah, I had a lot of los this weekend. I had a close portion call, thought i was going to run out, so while I was home over the weekend I used my probe los. I can already tell it's getting easier. It's just practice with baking the pris. I've gotten a little better, and it's definately true that leaving it alone is the key. I was able to keep one in for a good solid hour and a half without issue. I took out the can of General Los I had and baked one up, and that completely mushed out after about 20-30 minutes, though I think it was just a crappy pris on my part. I'm able to bake an excellent cylindrical shaped pris, unfortunately it's like a hockey puck... lol The long and thin cylinder is much better than the short fat cylinder. It doesn't fit right... I'm trying to figure out how to bake it thinner and longer. Practice makes perfect.
I think using los exclusively for a period of time has change my taste for the portions. They taste different now. I don't know what the taste is, just different...
I have this syringe that I got when my wisdom teeth were pulled... It's about as large in diameter as a dime. I'm guessing this is too large??? Or shuold I cut it up and give it a try?

The reason I would recomend an icetool is because it allows you to enjoy los at any moment without the mess.
I tool was hesitant because i found that i didnt like using a prismaste rbecause i hated the pris it made and found that the ones i hand baked fit better in my lip.
But i eventually broke down and bought an icetool.
And i love it.
The pris it makes can be inserted high on the gum line and lasts forever. Your hands dont get messy and u only have to clean it once a week or so.
I now only use portions when i have to which isnt that often, plus there are some flavors/brands I love the taste of that are only available in portion.
Hands down an Icetool is a worthy investment for all Los users, if you havent tried one you dont know what you are missin.
