Never tried it before but I'm gonna order a can of lakett loose. Any advice on hand forming it? Is it difficult?
Gonna try loose snus, advice?

First and foremost don't give up. Second use a finely ground snus to start with, I assume by lakett you mean Röda Lacket, which will work just fine. Anything by Swedish Match will work nicely. I started with Ettan Loose. You are going to want to pinch a chunk out and then form a cylinder in the palm of your hand. You can round off the ends so it stays together in your mouth better. The first two hand bakes will likely fall apart and turn into a " mud slide " but don't give up. By the sixth try you should be making something quite good, it only get's better, faster and easier from there. It works much like Play-Doh and if you have ever used dip in where you grab the pinch up against the inside of the can, this will be familiar to you.
Eventually you can move onto the "Farmers Pinch" which is simply quickly grabbing a coarse chunk and firing it up under your lip. Loose snus users don't mind getting a bit on their tongue or using their tongue to adjust the pinch. It will taste salty, bitter and burn a little bit, but that is just part of the fun. Don't give up, watch some snus review videos where they hand bake and go from there. You will soon be hand baking like a pro. I prefer loose as you get nearly twice as much per can for the same price. I like portions too because they are so convenient and tidy, but I find the portion material can dry out your gums and cause more gum recession over a very long time. Loose fits your mouth better and you can control the portion size from, tiny and discreet to a great big dense chunk that makes you look hilarious, but oh so delicious!

My noob advice - don't over-compress the pinch or it will feel like an uncomfortable lump instead of a smooth, comfortable pillow against your gums. And just try to resist moving it around, poking it with your tongue, etc - only if necessary! That was my biggest fail with los.
Edit: Roda Lackett is really good to handbake, I've heard. Wish I had thrown a can of lackett in my last order, I've already forgotten that mildly fruity taste.

One thing I should mention, is that as you get better at hand baking you'll find it really isn't any kind of a mess. At first you may be wondering if it's even worth it but I can assure you it is. I went with Ettan as my first hand baking experience as the grind on the snus is quite fine, and the moisture is very good. Röda Lacket will be nearly identical. After about 4-5 cans of loose, you will be so good you could hand bake dry straw. Good luck, have fun, enjoy your snus mc89. If you have any problems or questions come back here and let us know.

Hi. Roda Lacket was in one of my first orders. It is very easy to bake into a prilla. I don't put it into the palm of my hand or anything like that. Just pinch a bit with my right hand and then shape it with the finger tips. I always get a good one doing this unless I really rush it and do it with one hand. Or the hillbilly pinch works ok too if you are in a rush.
I will say that I was not too fond of roda as it was a little bland for my tastes.

I guess that I did not give it enough of a chance. I think that I do need to revisit a few of these brands. Like Roda, ettan, and rape'.
I have been snusing for about 8 months or so and this is after coming off American dip. I think that I just got used to the stronger flavours from that. That's why I like most V2 brands. Stronger flavours.

For now give Knox, Extreme, V2 Blue and Brown, Granit, General ES, Gustavus a try
These will all fall on the strong end of the flavor spectrum.
Also remember the tighter you pack the pris the longer the flavor lasts but the slower it releases. I always try a new snus in the lower lip (like I used dip)....the rest of the time I change up the placement (side to side/ upper lower)
Anyway check out the Dipper's guide to snus.....lot of good info about all things los
You can find it here

The problem I have with loose is that it seems to take bout 30 minutes before I can taste anything. I try not to make the pris too tight when I form it, and still I have trouble getting the flavor. I wonder if I should just pinch some and throw it in the lip and forget trying to form it. I don't know.
