Maybe Chad can come in and give some insight into all of this......but I would not hold my breath for SM expanding their existing line of sale in USA brick and mortar shops.........that would be a complete reversal of their firm commitment/policy

And if you are waiting for a reply from SM that is of any content....good luck.........we had two SM reps here for a while..... they had their own sub-forum and fielded questions from the members.....it seems that that tenure has ended........but to be honest.....no one can tell for sure

As far as buying on line, sending money orders, and etc....why not get a prepaid Visa card at walmart and use that.....do a mock order.....see what the total will be with shipping....and go get a card for that amount....wiring money is expensive.....plus you are limited in selection

I woke up this morning at 4:00 AM. I knew something was wrong.

I get out of bed and go to the thermostat. It's 55 degrees in the house. Furnace is shot!

Can I call a heating guy at that hour with our being charged enough so I have to take out another mortgage? No way!

So I get a chair and take it into my bathroom and close the door and sit down under a ceiling heat lamp. I gotta wait to call that guy until maybe 7:00 AM.

I sit.....and wait.....with a bit of Jak Wintergreen to help the time go by.

And I dream (and freeze)..... of the General Mint that I have always wanted to try and is coming in my next order.

The Gen ES and Onyx is further in the back of my mind.

No it's a gas furnace and there is a water pump attached and this is the second time it died.

However, I do have Gen ES and Onyx in my cart (which may end up costing me more than the repair bill at this point)!

Hmm... Radiant heat? I like that. Especially the huge free standing radiators. Kind of a hassle to work/decorate around, but they feel warm and comfy; like having a mellow, non-smoking wood stove in every room. Water pumps should be fairly durable. Do you have a water issue that's making the pumps fail quicker? You might be able to fix it by treating the water(after repairing the pump).

Dan may be referring to heat taken from the hot water (water heater) and pumped through a heat exchanger??? We have this system on a rental and it is efficient but very confusing to me.....I hope it lasts a long time without repair.

Got two things to catch up on with you guys in this thread.

1. My furnace guy showed up at the stoke of 8:00AM today.

The guy reminded me of my mother. By that I mean you will run into people every so often that will make you remember how good people can be when you aren't ready for it.

It wasn't the "pump" at all. It was an ignition switch that had failed after ten years. One hour of labor. I'll leave my Snus cart alone for now and not delete anything.

2. Without going into it I was also reminded today that there are millions of people who I would love to send checks to if I ever win the Powerball.

The fun of winning the Powerball for me (at my stage in life) is entirely different then it would have been 30 years ago. Then I would go to Hawaii and buy all kinds of crap and do all that kind of stuff.

If I did win the Poweball (and I read that people really do) I would have so damn much fun giving it away making other people feel like they also won with me.

I'm way off topic!

But I've got heat again.

Something new and big is happening, news is going to be coming soon. Can't say much beyond that, but what's happening is so big it needed more focus than Kardus did this year, which is the reason for Kardus not happening in 2013. It's not ruled out for 2014, however, that we'll see Kardus.
