    Pre-Baked lossuns: It exists!

I was browsing the /r/snus subreddit over at reddit.com and noticed that someone had picked this up at a local Swedish convenience store. Apparently it is Lundgrens Pre-Baked Limted Edition:

Here are his comments on this snus:

"Found on 7-eleven in Sweden. 100kr (~$15/€10) for a box.

Comes in a nice robust box (solid wood, or just very thick cardboard?). The lid stays open or closed with a fairly strong spring, and gives it a very solid feel. The tin itself is metal... The taste is raw tobacco, no nonsense.

The verdict... Well, I'm mostly using lös nowadays, as it feels more genuine than portion and gives more of a kick. This is some kind of a midpoint, and feels almost like some kind of chewing tobacco.

The portions are soft like a marshmallow between your fingers (not really as it's not "stretchy" like a marshmallow, but it's the best analogy I can come up with). It's easy to split in smaller pieces, and shape like you desire, without leaving any traces on your fingers.

It tickles my gums a bit so I guess it's more stingy than regular portion. It's does feels a bit "slimy" from the binding agent, but I guess it dissolves after a while. I've only had it in for a couple of minutes.
Interesting idea, but I think I'll personally stay with regular lös brands in the future. I guess this product may appeal to people who want to go with lös, but don't want the mess. It's nothing wrong with the taste or anything, but the "slimy" feel under your lip is a bit odd."

I'm not much interested in the concept, but that's a snazzy presentation. I'd certainly buy a box if I saw one.

Yeah, nice to look at. They had this one a few years ago. I wonder how hard they are to get...

I saw this and some other Lundgrens branded portion snus available when I was checking out what they had duty free at the Norwegian airports (I'm off to Norway in March for some gigs)

I tried googling and it came up with nothing - I assumed it was either very new or a Norwegian speciality.

            I'd definitely try it!

I wonder what the binding agent used is? Corn starch, gelatin?

Making home-made snus in to portions is a really time-consuming thing - not really a viable option - but this sort of thing could be made to work I think.

My guess (if it is slimy) is that the binder would be some sort of gelatin vs corn starch

Let's contextualize this....call it a marketing exercise....it will help us view the viability of the product beyond a set demographic.........to do this....... what we will attempt is to describe the same product concept but in a different product genera.......the process is simple and can be accomplished in just a few words....for example:

                          Pre-filled Condoms

You lining up out side the store yet?

so.....the moral of our little story is..............Don't f*ck with los

That's a fine analogy mate. But they don't taste quite the same.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Can't agree with you there Snusdog .... for once.

The idea of a lös that is mess free like portions is more like inventing a condom that has a medical action like viagra, feels as if it isn't there, and makes you a cup of tea afterwards.
