a question of snus storage while traveling

    hello good people of snuson

i am planing a long -2-3 month- period of wandering around the south island of new zealand
camping and walking, maybe some fishing. i am not a resident here so once i leave my current
house , i will have no freezer in which to store me snus. i have yet to discover a portable , solar powerred
fridgefreezer unit and here is my dillema. i have to carry of my snus and worldly possesions on my back
like a snail, i may, depending on circumstances , stopover over in the odd hostel or farm for a week or two
andcould there refrigerate my supply, but will soon be back on the road. how long can i expect an unopened cansnus to sustain its vigour for , in a rucksack, in a sealey bag in summer and autumn weather? is it a bad idea to have snus continually being refrigerated then not, frozen then not. also , does dry nasal snuff fare better than the oral moist? and if so can anyone point me in the direction of a good supplier and type please

The snus will be good enough for that amount of time. I wouldn't refrigerate at all. I think the cycling would be worse than a constant warm temp. Same thing with the nasal snuff. Dry will keep better than moist, but 2-3 months won't matter much. Keep it in a Zip-Loc bag. You can use the usual suspects for snus, and MrSnuff is the premier snuffmonger.

Be advised that portions will keep better than los, white will keep better than original, and dry white could probably withstand a firestorm if you should encounter one.

        Enjoy your trip!

I never and I mean NEVER refrigerate my snus. It will be fine...it's steam pasteurized.

I think New Zealand is the country with more rivers per square kilomiter in the world, if finally you decide to refrigerate it, you can use a zip-loc bag attached to a rod and put the bag with the snus inside the water always you are camped. That´s how I refrigerate my drinks when I´m on the mountains and don´t want to carry with a portable fridge. Mountain rivers can be at 15ºC even in summer, is not like a fridge but it works.
