Wow, brushing like that sound a bit scary in my opinion. Because of my retracted gums... I do never use any type of mouthwash though... Never really thought that would help me. Lol. My mom and dad have used snus for 18 years and their gums are alright. And me after like 2 years, already retracted gums. Hehehe...

Ettan is pretty salty. White portions feel more irritating to me, but I don't know if they're actually worse for your gums. My preference is lössnus, and that's worse on gums than portions. I don't care. I think genetics has as much to do with recession as anything else, and you only live once. I'd hate to get hit by a bus tomorrow, and have to regret all the crappy portions I used to gain marginal improvements on my gums :^D

I just bought a electric tooth brush on my dentist's recommendation (oral b professional i think) and it has made a tremendous difference in a positive way.

Most important if you have or are worried about receeding gums....use a soft tooth brush. That way you can easily brush your whole mouth without doing any damage.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I brush my teeth with Crest when I wake up, and then all day with General White portions, and I have a pearly smile

I'd put my Scuba tooth brush up against any of the "vibrators with bristles" on the market today

                          Love it

                            Ouch!

I'm Jerry Springer? That hurt a tiny bit!

No! Of course you can't brush your teeth five or six time a day!

I was suggesting that if you were deathly "afraid" of oral tobacco use and you wanted to help prevent it....and if you could run a soft tooth brush over your teeth after every Snus use: that wouldn't hurt.

By the way.....is Jerry Springer still alive?

You gotta be kinda old to even know who that guy is.

Then again I'm not watching a lot (any) day time TV. He used to be real big for having the nut cases on. I was one of his guests back in the day.

I did like your comment though. That's called originality!

there have been a few threads posted here where the members dentist stated their oral health is actually better since using snus. Not sure what to think of that. I have an appointment tomorrow with a doctor that is actually way more than a regular dentist. I know her personally and she knows I use snus so it will be interesting to see what she says. She is a new dentist to me....my other dentist is a total ass and I refuse to see him anymore. Wish me luck tomorrow.
I went to my appointment and the dentist said nothing about my gums. So I asked her about them, are they receding more than normal, do they look good? Especially up here [pointing to where I keep my portions]. She said everything looks fine. Then I told her to look closely. Yepper all is well. So I mentioned again that I use snus....she checks again and all is well.

With my previous dentist visits there has never been a clue that I used snus and now after being on snuson for a few years and reading all the positive results the members come back with after seeing their dentists I can only conclude that snus is not harmfull to your teeth or gums!! I still kinda think that snus MAY contribute to a bit of gum recession but that has to be a very minimal effect. However, I believe it may, after time, yellow your teeth somewhat. If you brush vigoriously with a medium or hard bristle brush you will probably do some damage to your gums....but that has nothing to do with using snus.

unfortunately I needed to have a wisdom tooth removed because it got infected after the first dentist had to put on a cap or a crown. Still not sure how or why it got infected but the new dentist said not to worry that it probably got infected from the previous work done on it...by the dentist that is an ass. This tooth has been a problem since the ass dentist worked on it about 2 years ago. He looked at it a couple of times but never did much to fix it. Hence the reason hes an ass and I will never use him again.

So anyway....Just got back from the new and improved dentist with my tooth in my pocket. She did a freaking great job removing it and all should be well now.

I still have some wisdom teeth in there. Must be why I'm so bright.

I suppose I will have to go snusless this evening. ;(
