My Ettan Review

FINALLY!!!

This is the salty tobacco goodness ive been looking for.

The los is subtle but holds up well.

It doesnt hold up as good as Phantom and General but lasts longer than Gotlands Gul.

I still feel like swedish match is screwing us over on white portions. The ettan white, like most swedish match white portions, is mostly portion bag and hardly tobacco. The flavor is good and salty but damn, its like a pinch of tobacco and 3 inches of portion bag.

That of course is an exaggeration but still, does anyone else think that swedish match is screwing us over on portions???

I LOVE ETTAN LOS! But yeah, not too crazy about the portions. Oddly I have an opposite relationship with Grov. Great portions (the regular ones), not too crazy about the Los.

I haven't tried ettan yet, but it's first on my list with my next order. I know what you mean when you say General holds up though. I'm in my third hour on this pris, and it's the first can of los I've ever had! Would you say ettan is saltier than General? I've heard lots of people say Ettan is too mild for them, and I have to say, I'm really liking that salty, tobacco-y flavor a lot more than I thought I would. If Ettan is as good as General, it'll definately go to the top of my list!

I like General Los but i think Ettan actually is a little bit saltier.

Think of Ettan as a General without the peppery spice to it.

Just tobacco and salt.

Wow....I'm starting to think I am the only one on this forum that does not like Ettan. I personally think General is saltier, but that is just me I guess (and I like General).

I'm still on my first can of Ettan, and I am NOT digging it at all. I thought this could be an American thing, but you guys are all in the states (I'm in Illinois).

I do not care for the smell of it in the can, the flavor seems way to mello to me, to the point of almost not having any. Again, this is just my tastes, and maybe this is a snus you start to like after using it for a while. I've only been using snus for about a month now, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

It also seems to leave a slightly bitter taste after I take the pris out.

Very cool to see reviews on here though. This is exactly why I joined this forum.

Glad someone is enjoying this brand, but I sure am not.

Hey man thats whats good about reviewing snus. Everyones flavor preferences are different.

I actually said the exact same thing about Grov. Then someone mentioned you are either a Grov man or an Ettan man.

I like Ettan much better than Grov.

Im sure there are also people who hate both.

But if you hate Ettan give Grov a try.

I got my first tin of General los about a week ago, Ettan and Goteborgs Rape should be coming in tomorrow (both los)

I like los because it's a better value, which is good when you're a poor college student, but to me the General los tastes... like "mild-funky". I love General portions, but this tin has an almost ammonia-like smell to it. It's also much more mild-tasting than the portions, which is OK I guess, but it just tastes "funny" to me. I don't know whether it's just a bad tin (it's not expired) or just my personal tastes, but I figured I'd try the Ettan and Goteborgs Rape, because everyone seems to love the Goteborgs, and I heard that often, you either like General or Ettan, but not both.

I'm a big General fan, myself. I just finished my can today, and as I dropped the can in the trash, I swear a single tear fell in the trash can right behind it. Ok, maybe it wasn't that dramatic, but the stuff is GOOD. I would definately order a roll. I would say right now that General is my go-to los. In fact, I think General is the los that convinced me that los is better than portions. For one, los doesn't make my gum/lip sore like portions do, and the flavor is so much better. Not to mention that you don't have to wait 20 minutes to get any flavor...Now if I can just get that hilbilly pinch down...

Hey cocsp2002, General is indeed good, and I prefer los, too. I would recommend Goteborgs Rape then. Very good flavor. That and Skruf Stark (sp?...still learning names) are my favorites right now.

You are in for a treat. Those are the two very finest Snuses available. Goat Rape is my absolute favorite.

I'm going to tell you right now, in hopes of saving you money, don't bother trying Grov if you feel that way about General.

I heard that often, you either like General or Ettan, but not both.

I like both, but prefer Ettan.

Yeah, I'm still working through my first order, and I got the buysnus portion/loose mix pack, so I'll be ordering a loose mix next. I truly expected to like portions just fine and keep the los for home use; but I just love los! I'm crossing my fingers of cans of RL, Goat Rape, Ettan, Grov and I actually want to try Phantom Blue.

I really like Ettan, both portions and los. I now know why it has been around this long. Portions are a roll buy for me, los is ordered to keep 1 on hand at all times !!!

I am a fan of both Ettan and Grov portions. I normally start the day with one or the other along with a good cup of coffee. Not a better way to start the day, IMHO. Today it happens to be Ettan.
