Dan...way ahead of you brother. The discreetness of Swedish snus is second to none and we continually tout this benefit. Also, we don't actively seek to "pull" dippers over to the snus side, because they are the toughest sell, so to speak. A dip user is accustomed to certain "mouthfeel" that snus cannot replicate, and there is the spitting aspect of dipping that snus of course cannot provide. Well, I guess it could, but isn't required. At any rate, thanks for the thoughts.

Resnor...we're working on getting many great flavors through the FDA now. Once that happens, we'll be able to offer the American public far more variety.

My thoughts on the above bold type might be more "clear" (regards marketing) after having watched countless YouTube videos with Dippers.

I'll let it go at that.

Thanks for the info Rick. Hang in there and I think you will be successful. It may sound farfetched to say this, but I can envision a time in the future when the Swedes will sell more snus in America than they sell in Sweden.

Okay, not sure what you're saying here...but sure your thoughts are more clear. You win :-)

Oh, I know that there are many great flavors awaiting FDA approval. I'm just not holding out hope. LOL

I can tell you it was probably... 2006 when I first tried snus. I've been a dipper since I was 14 and still on the occasion use dip (Only Timberwolf/Redman as I'm now a Swedish Match Loyalist) when I get the urge. Anyways, I started smoking and had heard of snus from some older friends of mine and decided to order some cans from northerner. I can still remember what I got, Kronan Los, Nick & Johnny Los, Skruf Original Portion, Skruf Cranberry Portion. My curiosity is what drove me to switch to snus and after my 4 cans were up decided not to buy anymore. Continued to smoke, and dip until about 2 years ago when I saw that my local tobacco shop had just got a brand new gloss black general snus chiller. After that day I haven't touched a single cigarette and almost exclusively gave up dip for about a year.

I guess what I'm saying is, my curiosity is what led me to try snus. Also I can deffinately say Skruf Cranberry is one of my all time favorite snuses.

I think the main problem is that your average joe has a very big misconception as to what snus is and is not. Hell some haven't even heard of it at all. Some think it's chew, which it of course is not. As such, they think it's as bad as chew and will not try it. To others it's a foreign name. Many times I tell people I do snus, they have no idea what it is. The few that do know what it is and have tried it recall trying marlboro or camel. Which of course, compared to real Swedish snus is crap.

When I decided to give up smoking, more than a year ago, even though I wasn´t a hard smoker, about 5-8 cigarettes per day, I knew it was going to be difficult to give up because I tried several times and always failed. I remembered a Swedish customer I have that was a snuser, I knew him as a customer but he became a friend, first time I met him he offered something strange that he uses to put in his mouth, “What is that?????” I asked him, “Is snus, it´s a very common way to use tobacco in Sweden” he said, I refused, it was too weird for me. When I decided to give up smoking, I remembered that strange black stuff and realized that it could help me with cigarettes, so I ordered some to Northerner and I discovered a wonderful stuff that now I love it. I think you have to be a little open minded to try new things like this, I offered a lot of people snus to help them with tobacco, talking about all the good things about snus, but either because is a new thing that people never heard about or because I´m surrounded by hard minded people, no one wants to try. So I understand you how frustrating is to try to offer something much better than smoking and people don´t want to try because of they are afraid of new things.

This is an update on my recent posts re leaving Snus for Dip.

Just before selling off my last stock of Snus and returning to Dip (only) ....and cigars: I had a thought. Never was one to think outside the box, me.

What if I double dozed a Dip with a Los?

Well....the first Snus I loved was Offroads Los Lakrits. And I had a few remaining cans of that still left.

So I tried a two tick ice tool of Los Lakrits right underneath (or on top) of a Dip of Cope Wintergreen/or Cope Black/or Skoal Fine Cut (whatever) and it made the Dip ten times better.

                      Not leaving Snus after all.

                      Dan

It might, indeed whalen. But Snus alone no longer does it for me.

I'll pass along your suggestion to other Redneck Dippers like myself.

I'm going to guess they've already tried that combo.

Sorry bout that Dan, whatever works for you is good...dip has gotten safer as recent data has
shown, but that fire cured tobacco is what makes dip so carcinogenic, and also imparts flavor.
Every time I have tried dip, it tasted horrible. Far cheaper than snus. I went straight from a 44 year smoking habit to snus, but harm reduction with snus has a big impact on choosing it instead of dip.
