Sorry I spaced out the other night. Wrangling behind the scenes with the mods and admin to keep the site pretty much the same as it has always been really stressed me out. Hours on the phone and many emails took up a lot of my time so I know I was pretty quiet. But we were successfull and its a good day. I tried in the beginning of the cue to keep you informed.....towards the end Charlie had to take over and I stayed in the back ground working for our freedom. Its all good now.

You know a Moderator death match would be a great way to raise some needed funds! I'm in, and my money is on Lxs! He has always had that reserved chain saw totin calmness. Dog's gonna do some serious damage though......Junk yard style........Parrots would be like the Knight in the Monty Rabbit sketch...."It's only a scratch" ! Karen will sooth the victor.

Rick, I owe you an apology... I thought this was part your idea.... We need you here and your efforts will win you sainthood someday, at least deep kudos when snus is sourced locally! I do hope that whatever happened is past us, radical change was a radical idea and brought about radical reactions. I don't think advertising was a bad idea, I hope the chatbox remains quite hard to find, and open, the thought of site sterilization was too much, It would kill a valuable character that is the heart of Snuson.

Looking back at 4 years of Snuson is quite a roller coaster ride. But seeing a fresh batch of newbies showing up does cause me to pause and show a more subtle side as they get their bearings. We believe in the power of snus, and as always we are beholding to the owners here. I think this whole episode is one to reflect upon, you don't know what you have got till it is gone. The dastardly site attack brought that front and center, a lot more of us than will admit just kept hitting refresh.

Thanks for this Whalen, and while it wasn't "my idea" I did fully support the idea of cleaning this place up, and still do. My main reason is so that we don't alienate anyone that wants to jump in and ask questions. Regardless...this isn't my site and I'll help where I can. I don't give a crap about "selling" ads, but that is a draw for manufacturers, but we have a few other ideas to help draw them back and interact with the members here, so that part doesn't bother me. I have many good friends here, and I'd like to meet more by having newbies walk through the proverbial doors.

But Rick....from what I've seen new members are always turning up and are welcomed heartily and warmly here. I tend to stay away from the welcome section because I know that I can be a bit raw - so I give them a chance before I rape them But seriously, people have more to do with their lives than us regulars. Normally somebody would just stop by ask a question, get what they need and then go away again. Let's face it, the reason why people turn up and don't stay is because there's not a huge amount to talk about and if they do a search all of the information they would have asked for anyway it is readily available. Given the small amount of regular posters suggests that the majority of people simply don't want to keep coming back and not because of anything in particular. If they wanted to come back they would - I've had a bloody nose on a few occasions but I came back - because I wanted to. Nobody here has been outright nasty to a new member unless they were obviously trolling which we had a while back. Let's summarise snus as an example - it's safer than smoking, it comes in portions and los, it comes in different flavours, you stick it in your mouth. There, done. I can't even convert a single smoker so that speaks volumes to me about the popularity. It's simply not as fascinating as we think it is.

oh, and fyi..this wasn't rickypooh's idea, I was merely helping execute ownership's idea. Obviously, that has changed. Sure, I was frustrated last night because of the changes back and forth, and I've been in the middle of moving..which just blows so bad, and needed a break last night. Regardless, I'm still here, sorry buddy :-)

totally glad your still here, but you have to admit you were pushing it harder than the other mods and were seriously on board. I'm not the only one who thought this btw. Not to mention, your lively hood relies on the propagation of snus. Anyway glad your still here but you have to understand how it looked.....

Love this^ So true. I'll just add that we're not a perfect bunch but I will say that I have met more intelligent people on this site than anywhere else. Probably why this is the only forum I frequent on a daily basis.
