Whisky is more pronounced than the Los, Dog...either a splash in the mix, or a longer sleep in the barrel. I am placing my bets on both. You don't want anyone pulling you over with this stuff in! Small batch crafted Snus... oh, hella yesz, we need moar of this!

Only problem with this snus, is you need a crackeling fireplace, comfortable chair, and your slippers to enjoy it's true nature.

And the bastards at buysnus had to throw in a can of General white mints. It was like they spread apart all that roll goodness, and took a dump in it!

All I really wanted to learn from this thread was how do you really pronounce the word "Islay".

I went to YouTube and found out that if I wasn't told how to actually pronounce this word correctly: I haven't enough years remaining in my life to come up with the correct answer by just looking at the word.

The right way to say Islay is "eye-luh" with a scottish accent.

You're now ready to progress to stage 3 ... say after me ...

        Bunnahabhain, Auchentoshan

Sometimes wrong and sometimes right .... but ALWAYS certain!!!

Islay Whiskey Snus sounds like a great high quality snus. I look forward to trying it. This thread is becoming a good product review too. Should the thread be moved to -- Forum/Snus/Snus Reviews/GN Tobacco (http://www.snuson.com/forumdisplay.php?144-GN-Tobacco) -- so it can easily be found?

            What do you think, LX?

I'm generally against moving threads unless there's a very good reason. If this were moved to reviews, then discussion would have to be closed, and people couldn't make random comments. Otherwise, the review section would get polluted with irrelevant fluff, and it would lose value as a place to learn about specific snus. There's a bit of ot commentary in the reviews, but it isn't too bad, and it's pretty close to being on topic.

That said, I encourage people who have tried this snus, or any other to do a review in the reviews section. It doesn't have to be a professional assessment of snus. It all has value, even if one isn't a particularly good writer. Everyone gets a little something different out of snus, and all the little somethings add up to a more complete picture for someone researching snus.

Surprisingly on topic! And, you must try the Auchentoshan three wood...oh my...that Spanish sherry cask! Nummy!

And the Islay whisky snus in that fugly can sucks ... so don't buy all of it before my next payday....Mmmkay?

I wonder how long it will take for that quality paint job to start failing. I think I might reuse the can.

I only got three cans and I wish I had purchased a roll of this one. I might have to. It's fantastically good snus. The tobacco is soft and you can definitely taste the peatiness and wood. The pouches are nice and plump which is good 'cos i think the portion material is a little thicker...kinda like Jakkobsons (I might be wrong, but that's the feeling I get). I thought it would take longer for the flavor to punch through but alas it's up-front and center. The nic level is right and the flavor is spot on. It's a quality tobacco and not too heavy on the "flavorings". A nice balance I'd say.

Great job on this "small-batch snus". I will be getting more.
The can is metal? Like an icetool can?

Yep...metal with a fancy rubberized coating...embossed and printed. Unique catch lid is inside the can...not sure I am crazy about that location though.

Thin steel can...like a Altoids tin. Not substantial like an icetool can. Does seem to seal well.

Ha, funny you say that, I was about to make a post asking about this. If it doesn't tear open when you even it out it will open it your mouth and give you a portion Los mix. I actually sorta like the flavor of it but they always open, for some reason no other general portions open like that, not even the mint ones.

Its the oil in the flavouring if I were to make an educated guess, the oil of evil!! Although I would still rather use general winterpoo over thunder winterpoo but if both were discontinued I wouldn't miss them!

Welp i finally did it. Haven't needed anything since the summer sale but i finally ran out of thunder frosted and am just left with a ton of general, lab lemon, and some stuff my dad didn't like and sent to me. Decided to throw in a few cans of Islay whiskey as well as a can of the 2 new general offerings. And of course had to throw in one of those cool new slim ice tool cans.

I think I'm going to roll the dice with customs and order this one. It sounds too good to miss. I wonder how much is available.

Was this only supposed to be available a limited time?
