    Does Julesnus have alcohol?

I know one of the flavors is mulled wine. Does Gotlandsnus contain any alcohol? I'm not a teenager looking to get drunk... just a former alcoholic not wanting to consume anything that contains it.

Hard to be 100% certain AltarsofMadness - it's not listed on the ingredients ... however Swedish Match list ethanol as a processing aid in their list of minor ingredients at http://www.swedishmatch.com/en/Our-b...in-snus/?tab=1 ... I would suspect that the amounts are so tiny that you would be getting more alcohol from a slice of bread than you would from snus.

Hopefully there will be a reply from Jimmy (sharesnusinfo on this forum) - he works for Gotlands and would be best placed to give you a definite answer.

I can notice subtle differences in how i feel after as little as half a beer and I never got that feeling when chain snusing gots julesnus. Like squeezy said there is probably more alcohol in a slice of bread.

Squeezy how did that copenhagen snus ever turn out?

Good for you AoM, you probably realize that the very notion or idea of consuming even the slightest, most miniscule bit of alcohol is not for us.......

FWIW, I don't taste any alcohol, and it doesn't remind me of alcohol in any meaningful way. I don't know about alcoholism triggers though, so YMMV.

But trace amounts of naturaly occuring alchohol are everywhere...fruits, bread, I understand the need to avoid, but it is everywhere.

                Use your common sense!

A portions of snus weighs around 1 gram. Even it it were one gram of pure alcohol (and not 99.9% tobacco mixed with water, salt and flavours), it would probably be too little even for a small insect to get drunk. For a grown up adult it certainly is too little to feel anything. In other words: you'll probably find more naturally ocurring alcohol in a fresh apple than you'll ever find in a snus-portion and you definitely find more alcohol in a brandy-praline than in snus.

Besides of that, as far as I know, the alcohol flavour used in the Christmas snus-varieties doesn't contain real alcohol - it's just an artificial flavour. And yes, even if this information is wrong, a portion of snus is so small that it simply does not matter either way.

                Cheers!

Whether or not there's alcohol in it, why torture yourself. Order snus that's not liquor flavored.

For a person who wants to avoid even the slights trace of "alcohol" there is also a psycological thing going on here.

If after consuming something and thinking it was alcohol free and then being told there was even a pinhead of alcohol in what he had just eaten/drunk (whatever) :he would be convinced that he had fallen completely off the wagon.

This is not a question of amount: this is a rigid mind set with an absolute zero tolerance level.

The word "trace" does not come into play.

Can't argue with a "rigid mind set"....!

I strongly suggest you never look up how much alchohol is in orange juice, bread, a juicy piece of fruit.

                        Hello,
Almost every snus that contain "Flavor/Aroma" have alcohol as a solution within the flavor!
it´s so little that you will not have any effect from it at all.

The only buzz you get is from the nikotine not the flavor!
