"Ref Dan F's latest screenshot he's trying to use one of our Desktop skins on a mobile device. That isn't going to work out well. Surely on a mobile device you select the Mobile skin or prefrably download and install Tapatak, both of which are oprimised for mobile devices."

Tapatalk is wank, total wank, I like the layout of the site on a computer so I access it via the browser on my iPad as twatatalk does function the way I want it to, I.e like the normal site, I don't like twatatalk.

I'm on my Mac (today) using Safari and the same "monster" pop up keeps blocking out 70% to 80% of the page.

This is not the pop up that other members see. They see a little one line kind of pop up.

This is probably a browser issue but it is a "major" pain in the ass.

This has nothing to do with the forum (as lxkskllr mentioned) and apparently I am the only member here seeing this annoying pain in the butt.

What I need to find here is a software geek who also happens to use Portions or Los.

PP is a great stand up comic (one of the best in the business) but I need a diehard nerd who knows how to fix this on my end.

No....I checked both the zoom settings and the overall system resolutions for the display.

No matter how I reset the options that damn window is huge.

I need a thirteen year old software nut (or a legal Snus user here) who does this stuff in his sleep.

yea I find that I need help for the littlest things even a 13 yo knows how to fix on the computer.


Admin says.....if you are in a foreign country that translator will always pop up. Can't do anything about that, sorry.

Not much he can do about the other glitches either other than you finding a work around. Its up to you to try other browsers. Or go online to try and find a fix. The site works great for 99% of the users as it is. There seems to be a fix online for just about anything but sometimes it takes a while to find them. Good luck.

Do you have any children or grandkids that can help you? My grandkids help me sometimes....but not enough. They never have time to answer all my questions or fix all that needs fixing.

lmao....same here. I had an acquaintance that is a computer wiz and used snus. Every once in a while he would come over to pick up snus and I'd have a list for him. 5 minutes later I had all my questions answered or computer adjusted. Sucks don it.

So, what would you guys like to see? Bitching isn't completely effective. Solutions would be nice too. Everybody hating a feature is easy to deal with. With split opinions, some people will just have to deal with it, or fix it on their end. Greasemonkey, NoScript, and Adblock+ can do a lot to change the look of a site from the user end. In fact, you can make it look like anything you want. It just takes a bit of time and knowledge.

Anyway, what do you like, dislike, and how can they be improved? I can't guarantee anything, but that gives a starting point for deciding where to go.

This would be specific to iOS devices but when running the site in safari on an iPad/iPhone when you click a thread it goes to the thread, not bring up the info box it means you have to double click every thread title and it's very very annoying. No idea if this can be incorporated into the site or if it's an iOS issue.

That popup is created with javascript. On iOS, can you selectively disable js on a per-site basis, or is there an addon(like NoScript for firefox) that could be used? That does sound particular to iOS. On my android tablet, when I hit one of those quick links in the box, it takes me right to the thread.

You made me think of at least trying another browser other than Safari. So I came here with FireFox to see if that box would be gone or changed. Same thing!

Your other suggestions are the way to go lxskllr but you have to realize that someone who is not software literate can get themselves into more trouble than they had before by downloading and using plugins and software that they are not adept at fooling around with.

The way I've always learned stuff was to have someone who feels comfortable with it and gives me one on one instructions, in person!

The problem is not wanting to go to the thread the problem is not being able to read the rest of the site.

I'm not sure whether I can disable java script on a per site basis.

My wife is the tech nerd lol I will ask and she if any light can be shed on it, but I can get chrome for iOS so may give it a whirl.
