    Brag Post, 1 Year

Well, I have been quitting cigs with SNUS for a few years now, and while mostly successful, every attempt had some fails, whether it be cheating with a cig here and there, or returning part time to smoking (I say part time because since i have have begun snusing, I gave up smoking at work, and thats been well over 4 years now). Anyway, last year, while "part time" smoking, I got sick, and it turned into Bronchitis, something that was happening to me every year when I was a heavy smoker, which prompted me to begin quitting. I hadn't gotten bronchitis in several years. I was in bed for a week, on my nebulizer, and I just saw a future of misery.

So last March 2nd (2013), I had my last cig. A week later, my wife had her last cig. So Sunday was 1 year for me (A couple more days to go for my wife), with no cigarettes at all, not even a drag from one. I think I am done forever. I am highly addicted to SNUS, but for now, I have no issue with that. I am proud of going a year. My cig cravings are few, about 1 a month, and it only lasts 5 to 10 minutes and it passes. They are getting easier to deal with.

As far as quitting SNUS, I have no current plans. but eventually it would be cool to get off tobacco for good. But I love my SNUS, and I love that I can do it anywhere.

So anyway, Thank you SNUS and thank you SNUS community. Could not have done it without you. And I am SO much healthier for doing it. Stragenly enough, I also lost 39 lbs, at the same time as quitting cigs (Not done that often huh?) by changing my eating habits. So my lungs are good, and my body is so much better. Long Live SNUS!!!!!

Wow, the one and only place I decided to seek some positive support for my accomplishment. 17 views and not a single congratz. Man this place used to be SO supportive. Now I guess only stupid ass political threads get attention. Oh Well. Thought I could get support from those that understand the best, but fortunately I am ok without it. Carry on.

Congratulations. The first year is the worst, so now it should only be better and better. And...
By your one-year anniversary, your excess risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke has dropped to less than half of that of a smoker.

Congrats, first year is the hardest. My overall Heath improved so much when I quit smoking, have only had a cold once since I quit, whereas I used to get two or three a year when I smoked. Im still going bald but, can't have everything

Eh, I was cranky this morning. lol. Thanks guys. I just figured this is THE palce for this announcement. Did not even make it in work, or on any other forums. I could not have done it without SNUS. And man, I never ever want to go back to smoking.

Congratulations man. Most other people wouldn't understand. They'll think you're trading lung growths for mouth growths. and piss on your parade :^D

I used to get bronchitis and other lung issues bad. I haven't really been sick since I started snus. A couple times I felt a little blah, but it was gone in a day. It'll only get better for you going forward. Enjoy your new life :^)

Hey BadAxe - well done ... the thing is that you can have ambitions to get off the snus eventually safe in the knowledge that you have already removed yourself from 99% of the risk by quitting smoking. You've already done the lions share of the work ... and you're quite right to champion snus as the reason for your success!

Here's to many more years of much reduced risk!

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
