I am sure we do have currency exchanges here but it really is a hassle to go get 15 pounds exchanged for however many dollars and my bank is a virtual bank so it has no actual location. Of course any bank should offer me this service but sometimes I guess I would rather just keep the foreign money despite it's value here just because going to to the bank and sitting in traffic or dealing with people for 10 dollars just doesnt seem worth it. I am also not in a big tourist location so it's like like there are signs in different languages pointing out a traditional currency exchange.
Chip and signature? Never heard of that, the chip and PIN number go hand in hand otherwise the chip is useless. Yes you can still use your cards here, they can still swipe them and sign the receipt, since chip and pin isn't worldwide we still need to cater to tourists with non chip and pin cards so don't worry about it.

Mine was peddaled to me as chip & signature. It looks like chase bank just decided to try to work out some deal with every foreign bank that exists rather than just giving marriott card holder a pin number. So from reviews I have read a pin is not required and if you find one that requires a pin you should report it to them immediately. Seems like a very american thing to do.....do something slightly different and just expect everyone to cater to you, no wonder our banking system caused world-wide collapse.
I'm more concerned with with a trip me and my girlfriend have started brainstorming for about a year from now where we would basically just try to visit a new country and city every day and would be trying to take a train there because driving on the left probably isn't something we could just suddenly be good at while driving through busy cities.

Go inter railing around Europe, it's like a right of passage over here and dirt cheap, no boarder checks so it is quick and easy to do.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Great point Frosted....and a sign of the duplicity actually at work in the whole process

That said, unless I am reading the memo that Jimmy linked to incorrectly...... it seems the snus situation is pretty much status quo..........I am not sure how the flavor ban will effect a product made under Sweden's exemption.......I guess member countries could ban the "cross boarder" sales outright......or limit it to flavor complaint brands

However, what does seem to have changed is the e-cig terrain......... it looks as if the e-cig folks are just about to join the fun we have been having for the last several years........I take the line that reads "We will revisit and revise the e-cig regulations as greater research comes available (my paraphrase)"..........to mean.............if e-gigs start cutting into cigarette and pharmaceutical sales we will do our best to regulate it out of existence......and also........ our tobacco zealots need a bit more time to manufacture some bogus studies

When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
