    On Flavourings:

Other tobacco products, such as cigars, cigarillos and smokeless products are exempted from the ban on characterising flavours. This exemption will be removed if there is a substantial change in circumstances (in terms of sales volumes or prevalence levels among young people). Tobacco for oral use (Snus) is exempted from this ban, as well as from certain other provisions regulating ingredients

    -------------------

Is the ban on snus (oral tobacco) maintained?

Yes. In the EU, oral tobacco (such as snus) – which is not chewed – has been banned since 1992. Sweden has an exemption under its Accession Treaty, provided it ensures that the product is not sold outside Sweden. Snus is addictive and has adverse health effects. Already before 1992, a number of Member States had banned the product, taking into account its significant growth potential and attractiveness for young people.

            Please Joe....say it ain't so.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I really doubt some young kid would say "o darn I can't get snus so i just wont use tobacco" They will just go get cigaretts. I thought tobacco was the coolest thing ever when I was 13/14. I would smoke cigs, cigars, chew tobacco, anything. Maybe it's time you Brits take our old stance of no taxation without representation. You should not be taxed when what the government does, does not represent your vote. Because snus makes tobacco usee safer and more convenient it is automatically a child killer? These governments are so quick to ban things that they do not even understand and are afraid of. It's like old people worrying about getting a virus form playing solitare on their computer.

This is Brussels and not our government. This is just a taster of what will be forced on everybody in the UK if they vote for full integration into the EU system. A catastrophic loss of democracy.

I am fully on board with the UK never even considering joining the EU. The EU is just transforming into this complicated pile of a shit storm. They have good ideas that by themselves could just be agreed upon by whoever wants to participate, but fully accepting and integrating means adds a pile of other things you don't want. A single currency would be awesome. I love to travel, I would love to go to London, then Germany, then Sweden, and Austria, and Liechtenstein and anywhere else and never have to go to one of those god damn currency exchanges or hit an ATM and have these worthless pounds/euros when I get back to america. For a place like the EU which just seems to want to turn everyone into a giant vagina, I can't see how it will ever last. Ask Norway why they don't want to join, or Iceland, or any other country that doesn't want it.....they don't want to be tied to all of these things that they have to follow simply because they liked the sound of having the same money as a bunch of other countries.

The UK, Sweden, Denmark and Poland don't have the euro. The pound is also more valuable than the US dollar

I just re-read my post...I think I may have come off wrong. I was saying the pound and euro are worthless once i bring them back to america. So if i get out too much money at an exchange and then don't re-exchange before i leave....i am basically left with worthless scraps of paper. Although I recently did get a marriott rewards card with no foreign transaction fee and the chip and signature technology or whatever it is you guys use over there that is more advanced than our credit cards so maybe I won't need the currency exchange anymore.

I understand, do you not have currency exchanges back into US dollars? Your bank should offer you that service. Euros are worthless anyway

chip and and pin is ok if you remember the pin number lol we have contactless payment now where you hold your card over the chip reader, a second later it beeps and you have paid. It's limited to payments of £20 and under so some chav can't nick your wallet and go buy a huge TV etc, it's a lot quicker when buying small things, train tickets, coffee etc.

I am sure we do have currency exchanges here but it really is a hassle to go get 15 pounds exchanged for however many dollars and my bank is a virtual bank so it has no actual location. Of course any bank should offer me this service but sometimes I guess I would rather just keep the foreign money despite it's value here just because going to to the bank and sitting in traffic or dealing with people for 10 dollars just doesnt seem worth it. I am also not in a big tourist location so it's like like there are signs in different languages pointing out a traditional currency exchange.
