Your picture looks like the cans I have. Every can I have opened has some pouches that are more dry than others. I am with the folks that say it's a moisture content issue.
If I am not mistaken, GN and Conny address the moisture content(not enough) during the manufacturing process in upcoming batches? This seemed to be a common complaint among folks. To me, these areas appear to be dry areas of the portion and not mold. Man, I hope it's not mold because I am using this snus a ton. Let us know what Conny or GN tell you.
If it's mold, I would think the areas would have a more fuzzy appearance than just a blanched look.

I tend to think it is the moisture content. As for fuzzy, it is hard to tell because the material itself was so dry where the spots were it looks kind of fuzzy but that could just be the dry material. As I said when I stuck the tin in the fridge the remaining pouches looked much better, darker, moister etc.. so I think snusdog is likely correct that it is a moisture issue not a mold issue.Originally posted by brant View PostYour picture looks like the cans I have. Larry(snuscentral.com) relayed to me this info:
"I asked Conny about this when I received my first sample cans. It’s not mold. Old-style original portions were dryer than today’s original portions. In Islay batches 1 and 2, they used even less water than planned and these white patches appeared on the portions. They are just dry spots. The cans from batches 4 on are wetter. Still may see a little dry spot here and there but no worries."
