What about insanely high London house prices snus while we're at it. Half a pissin' million quid for a tin with three portions.
Have you been a victim of Lenny's Cuts?

Sorry - a joke in poor taste for a situation like that I know. But I thought it - and now I have said it!

Frosted - that is the worst thing. I really hope it doesn't happen for you.

My job is moving into central London. We thought our jobs were safe under TUPE but apparently not now (we get TUPE'd to the new site in April next year even though we're staying at the old site......we're 'in house and will still be 'in house' after the April TUPE ..........if our particular job gets contracted out (TUPE'd again) and the new contractor doesn't want us as we get paid quite a bit, we'll get made redundant. Redundancy was never on the table until recently. Our redundancy isn't as bad as others at one months pay for every year served, but it's still sh!t.
Actually Skell, if you know anything about employment law your advice would be great. Trying to find anything out on the internet that applies to us is a nightmare as TUPE is a minefield and it was changed at the beginning of the year.

Sorry for venting - it really got to me yesterday.

Pretty confusing Frosted. Hope it works out for you, whatever happens.

My vote goes for black pudding snus, cause you guys deserve it :^P

On a side note, I got a jar of Vegemite from Wegmans the other day. I'm pretty excited to see how it compares to Marmite.

Vegemite is like all Australian things ... not quite as refined as the English version.

I spent employment law down the pub mostly and fell asleep in the one I turned up to, so I wouldn't say I'm an authority on TUPE. I do know a lot of good people who could help you out though if you're interested?

This, vegemite is ok but nothing compared to marmite.

Toque Nigella Lawson after a strenuous morning run............. flavour.

Available in 25g tins or bullets for a special introductory price of £4.20 (excluding VAT)

                ------------

Tried the vegemite down under, but I was reluctant to try the marmite pizza in NZ.

I like your thinking Crow but sadly all you'd end up getting over here is fat slag flavour.

                        Vegemite - Show Of Hands

Raise your hand if the first time you heard the word, "Vegemite" was during the song "Down Under" by Australian musicians Men At Work. It was a complete mystery to most Americans …. what is that, we asked?

While you're technically correct, I didn't know what they were saying. My ears just sort of glossed over that part. That's the first time I heard the word, but I don't remember the first time I understood he word.

I grew up vaguely aware that Vegemite existed ... but when I was a teenager our TV was bombarded with Aussie soap-operas which I loved at the time and they kept on talking about it ... they even use the word Vegemite as a slang word for children!

The best unique Aussie food for me is a Tim-Tam-Slam. Tim-tams are a chunky chocolate covered biscuit bar and the slam is where you bite the chocolate off both ends, insert it in to a mug of hot tea and attempt to drink as much tea as you can using the biscuit as a drinking straw ... when it begins to collapse - you have to eat the soggy biscuit in one!

A tim-tam-slam is one of the most messy and life-affirming snacks I have ever had.

Its a tim tam explosion that one mate, they sold them over here ages ago after they were on neighbours, I miss them, you can attempt to recreate it with a penguin but it's not the same

True, Trebli. Never heard of the stuff before Men At Work. Haven't heard of it since Men At Work.
