The jelly that they sell here for sandwiches is like that, clear, like Jell-o. Doesn't spread as easy as jam. I prefer jam, or preserves on toast.

      ;-)

I'm just trying to wind up Americans ... again ... it doesn't work if you agree with me!

In fact we use the word jelly to mean the same thing as you do too. But whoever heard of grape jelly??? That's a new one on me.

They use Concord grape juice in it. Concord grapes taste different, and not very good to me. They make horrible wine, but kids seem to like juice (and jelly).

What Is The Difference Between Jelly, Jam And Preserves? And What Exactly Is Jell-O?

          This explains the difference.

Ahh! So I've learnt something there ... is that the horrible fake grape flavour that they use in things like Jelly Belly jelly beans? I've always wondered why it never tastes anything like grapes!

And finally ... from those definitions the only difference is that Jelly is also what we call the thing that you call JELL-O

The language is English ... and we say that in England ...

                So we win.

That's it. What some call "purple flavor". Concord grapes grow in everywhere. They add a ton of sugar to make it palatable to some.

Americans are weird! With their funny words and eating habits and wrong grapes and playing football with their hands ... Captain Kirk and Columbo ... it's a whole different planet out there.

Yes, you win. Now go eat a stargazy pie. (There's a snus flavor that I might avoid)

Now play fair ... that's from Cornwall ... or Kernow as they call it - that's not really English at all ... at least they used to have the common decency to speak a different language out there so we knew that they were foreign with their fish-head pies.

I've got a jar in my own refrigerator. It's great! Much better than yeast on toast.

The jar speaks for itself! Schmuckers ... who else would buy the stuff?
