Is the jury still out on General Sterk?

I've only seen a couple reviews on this; I woulda thought 99% of the forum would've tried it by now.

How is this compared to regular general portion or onyx?

    Thanks guys.

I find it to be very similar to General... I haven't sat down and compared the two side by side yet though...

I can't compare it to Onyx (as I don't like Onyx) - but I've liked the Sterk from the start.

Nice kick and mellow flavor. It's quickly become one of my "dailies".

I have had 1 tin, I liked it a lot. Am waiting about 3 weeks to a month to try it again, just to see if I still like it. I will review it then.

But, can't really compare to Onyx, Onyx is just such a strong taste. But better than general white, at least in my first reaction to it. Typical white, flavor does NOT last quite as long as some other whites though.

When I open another tin, I will directly compare and contrast it with Nick & Johnny West. I love the idea of having a strong white, as I tend to prefer whites in general these days. From memory, I thought Sterk and N&J West were similar, but want to do a direct taste comparison to know for sure.

Since you brought it up, perhaps I will get to that this weekend.

General Sterk is one of my dailies too. On a taste continuum, I would rank General Sterk exactly halfway between Onyx and N&J West. Lighter on the signature General flavor than Onyx, not as pure tobacco taste as N&J. All in all a solid contender for me in the long-term. Good nicotine flow for 45+ min. Wedge shape is nice (how do others put in the wedge -- thick side in the middle or on the side?). I haven't had Scruf Sterk, which I gather is the more direct alternative to Gen Sterk.

I just crumble it up, flatten it out and put it in - but I do that with any portion that's heavy to one side.

                G. Sterk was my first Swedish Match product, and the first white portion I tried. I really like it, but I'm not sure if I like it better than Onyx.

                  Dude;

                  The jury is in...

We the snusers have heard the evidence and sampled the product.
So say me, so say us all. General Sterk is good, very good.

Sure it doesn't taste quite like General, and isn't as potpouri as Onyx. It is however a quality product taken for what it is. A strong portion with good flavor and quality packaging. I keep a can at the office to bump up my productivity. I have one with a beer to quench the urge to smoke. For times that require a strong portion General Sterk is there. N&j west is in the same league for me. Good flavor, nice nic flow, utilized correctly strong snus deserves our regard as holding a place in snusing that needs filled by one brand or another. Skruf, N&J west, Onyx, or General Sterk. The choice is yours. Pick your niche and snuson. 8)

For me it didn't fill any voids that Nick & Johnny didn't already fill just fine, so I used it for a day and a half, thought it was good, and haven't touched it.

How could you forget old faithful, original Nick & Johnny. Still my go too guy most often. I have 3 N&J's at least for every 1 of all the other strong's combined.

For strong, as far as effectiveness, they still have to live up to the king, and Nick & Johnny is King.

Now Sterk, possibly a royal challenger. Still to early for me to pass judgment. But N&J has been getting a bit harsh on me again lately. Happened to me 8 months ago, but then it came back. So we shall see what happens next. But I still have more cans of N&J, then all my other strong cans combined.

General Sterk has a different taste and texture compared to Nick and Johnny. I compare N&J to the aroma of cigars, and General Sterk to a more peppery-tobacco taste. I wouldn't like to compare these two types of strong portions, because in my opinion, they are both excellent in their own unique ways. I would recommend General Sterk to anyone that prefers strong snus that doesn't "juice" as much as other strong brands on the market.

snusjus, I agree. They are different, and apprpriate for different moods.

The real question is where N&J West falls in. I was excited when it came out, cause I was happy to have a white strong.. I thought I had another tin of West in the freezer, but I was mistaken. Next time I order, I want to do a direct comparison between West and the Sterk.

But I definitely like the Sterk, will become a regular.

I received 2 cans of it in the mail today! I cracked open a can of onyx though since that has always been a favourite of mine since i started in Norway when it first came out 2 and a bit yrs ago. I'll try it tomorrow probably.
