Switching from Sterks to regular portions.

I've been snusing for about 3 years. In that time I've really only ever used sterks or multiple portions. For a long time I only used 2 regular portions at once. I eventually moved down to just es portions (Thunder and Grov mostly) and really big pinches of Los. I'm wanting to start using regular strength portions sometimes just because there
s more variety and I don't want my nicotine intake to get too insane. Has anybody that used exclusively sterks switched down to regular portions? Is it easy to lose the extra nicotine?

i was worried but here's what i did that made it easy: you are using a sterk then go to bed as normal (without a snus in) and then when you wake up after 7 or so hours without nic then start using the 8mgs or whatever. Worked for me. Good luck.

Going the other way (stepping up your nic) is much easier... you just put in the sterk anytime of day after using regulars.

I recently found out I have a heart condition, and to decrease my stimulants, so I quit caffeine, and cut back to regular strength portions only at the same time. It took a few weeks to adjust, but I've been using just regular strength snus for a few months now and I do just fine. I'll use a sterk (like Islay Whisky Snus, or stronger portions I review on Snubie.com) from time to time, but 99% of my daily usage is regular strength snus. It's not too hard, it can be done. Good luck!

I used Thunder for awhile as just about my only snus. I decided I didn't require the higher nicotine and switched to Offroad and Oden's 8mg portions.

Honestly, I never noticed the increase in nicotine anyway, I only bought Frosted for the flavor. As long as there's lots of flavor coming through, I'm good to go.

Chad, I'm sorry to hear about your medical condition. I know how that feels as I have had a few health problems myself in recent years.

It's really easy to go down to 8 mg. I went straight from sterks to regular after years of the strong stuff and don't miss them. It's easy.

I chain sterks but usually leave it in for 2-3 hours. When I switched to 8mg I found I was changing every hour, so I went back to sterks.

That's what I've learned. It's not that the 8mg isn't satisfying it just doesn't seem like the flavor or feeling lasts for that long.

Is that some form of tachycardia or arhythmia if you don't mind me asking? I am having those and its really been getting to me . I to have cut down on the stimulants, no more drinking, one cup of coffe a day, but still get these episodes of racing heart rate and fluttery chest . I only really use regular strength los .

Well I went from ES to Strong no problem and am looking at getting some regular strength soon and ill post how that goes. While we're all being honest I recently passed out at work and have been off for the past few weeks and ended up getting a ekg for my speeding heart rate and now I'm getting a heart monitor for 48 hours to make sure I don't have a bum ticker but also have to get a ultrasound on my prostate to check for any problems because of issues "down stairs" and hell I'm only 26. Hopefully we all come out of this without a scratch on us

Also I was dealing with the same thing had a couple friends die, found out wife was preggers, car cost me 4k in under a week and lots of it seemed to be stress. Like I got to a point that I would look out my living room window and start having panic attacks that sound just like you describe. I've actually entered counselling through my job and it's helped a lot. Gone from about 20 attacks a day to maybe 3 depending on the day.

Cody i am glad you are getting to grips with it. It can be very distressing indeed. I think my episodes may have to do with anxiety as well , but lately i have been noticing that seem to always happen
just after eating , so i don't know what that means , suppose i should go to the doctors instead of discussing here. Haven't been able to as i have been living in New Zealand for 8 months but back home in the uk
healthcare is free. Long live the NHS
