well , today is going to be 10 weeks 3 days since i last smoked a cigarettes. I am pretty sure that this is the longest i have ever been without a fag since i started. I am still struggling from time to time, but particularly over the last week, i have started to feel a lot better . One of the things that has been helping is just to put a snus in as soon as i wake up . I used to smoke first thing before breakfast , sometimes even before getting dressed! well i was farting around with snus thinking i had to brush my teeth and maybe eat breakfast and was feeling very wired upon waking and descending into a feeling of panick by time i finally got some snus in after breakfast. It's such a simple thing and never seemed to occur to me to just pop a snus in as soon as i wake up, in bed. It's really wonderful, a few moments as the snus does it's magic and i feel much better , and set up for the morning , which seems to be the hardest part of the day sans cigarettes. I think my body and mind is finally starting to realise i can get everything i can from cigarettes , from snus. I just have to wait a little bit longer , but that's fine. Anyway starting to feel as though i may actually having a chance of nailing this now , which is a good feeling
getting there

I'm also quitting smoking using snus, haven't had a smoke for a week and it's a weird feeling, I would love to have a smoke but I don't have the crave for it (which is the part that snus controls), maybe it's just the oral fixation or the act of smoking but the nic crave for cigarettes is gone (for now).

Keep it up friend! On day 3 myself, went out with a work buddy taking and he lit up. I kept talking but getting distracted by the smoke. Felt my body seriously wanting one but the snus helped.
The routine is the thing that I believe is the mountain we all need to traverse. Your well ahead and doing great.

In just a couple days I'm down from smoking 30 to 15-20, what's weird is I'm finding myself slowly needing a smoke less often. I'm really worried about the mornings because I smoke 2 down in about 10 minutes. And even more concerned about the next time I drink beer which will probably be tomorrow.

For example American Spirits burn slower, and provide more free base nicotine with no additives, so typically a smoker will be more satisfied and will be able to extend the time between cigarettes with significantly less cravings. That said, I would only smoke on drinking nights if at all and snus all other times. With you being a smoker and not being experienced using snus I would also recommend that use get some TillCe snus in the mix http://us.northerner.com/swedish-snu...-snus-int.html ...they hit hard out of the gate and no gum burn, and easy to double up if you have intense cravings. I have had smokers head spin with one of those little suckers.
I've chewed American dip here and there for a while (won't anymore after finding snus) occasionally so I enjoy the burn. Odens extreme 22mg nicotine is pretty serious stuff. I might try in the morning soon instead of smoking as soon as I get out of bed.
I know I can't quit cold turkey and maybe this progressive slow down of smoking will finally do the trick. Snus may be a godsend.

Also, cold turkey to me is no smoking and no other forms of nicotine, so you are really going warm trukey.
