The why was because of two things: I couldn't justify the luxury expense when I am trying to save for my daughter and wife. Just felt wrong. That and I wanted to try a nootropic that can interact badly with nicotine.

The how was simple. I went on a 3 day water only fast. Only water and snus entered my body. Not even coffee. This was extremely hard.

And then, when I gave up snus, I found that going without snus was a helluva lot easier than going without food. So I just stuck with it.

I justify it because snus gives me the focus and energy to work more efficiently. It I quit snus my work performance would be effected and I am in sales, so it matters.

Btw, in my book quitting doesn't count unless it has been 3 months plus and even those cases rarely go a year. I even know people such as myself that go years and pick it up again. I am more of the mindset that once a snuser/smoker always a snuser/smoker. Abstaining is one thing quitting is another.

Good on you CzechCzar. Snus has gotten pretty expensive for me too. I've found some cheaper means for my nic fix and still do 1 - 3 portions a day. I'm not ready to try a water diet or anything like that because I think I can maintain things as they are, at least for now. Best of luck.

Very true. Although the physical cravings ("I need a snus right now") are gone, I still find an awkward empty spot in my mouth, and I miss the flavor of Ettan terribly. Still, the CILTEP nootropic looks promising. And, I really, really don't want this shit around my daughter.

It is kinda weird with nicotine first for me it took about a year to have no cravings especially if out for drinks but still would dream about smoking in my dreams which I found kinda crazy, very vivid. I would expect that you will have periods of totally no desire and then random pangs to snus often intense but fleeting. Could be from lack of sleep, a certain meal or beverage, another person snusing etc... I found it really never goes away but does get less and less and if you can just ignore the infrequent pangs to snus you can do it with only a slight discomfort, it all depends on your commitment to not snusing but after a 3 day detox and not using you are likely out of the physical addiction now it is just the mental that is why people say quitting numerous times and failing is beneficial because you are learning to deal with the mental aspects and you get better each time with dealing with any cravings.

As for the my kids, I keep my snus well stashed and I use a no drip snus around the family, so no one really knows I am even snusing.

What is the nootropic you are now taking that reacts negatively with nicotine and what is the cost of nootropic?

Thanks all for the compliments. Looking back at my original post, I realize it seemed self-centered. I wasn't trying to gloat or get praise, just to recommend doing a water fast for 3 days to show your body what it's really capable of before trying to quit a less intense addiction such as nicotine. It's not actually that difficult to do.

The nootropic is called Ciltep. $42.95 / 60 capsules. Let me tell you, it works.

I think we should start a "Ask CzechCzar" thread where we ask you random questions and advice.......and then compare your answers today....with those you give two bottles into the Ciltep.....

                            Congratulations bro on quitting.
