Struggle with Klondike Fine-Cut of a Newbie Loose Snuser

    Hey there!

I'm always checking out northerner's discounts and 1-2 weeks ago, I spotted Klondike Fine-Cut discount. I ordered it at that very moment. But the problem is as follows; I haven't used any kinds of loose snus' since the day I started to use snus. When I opened the box the adventure (I lack attention to things sometimes, so I knew ordering loose instead of portions would happen at some point)began. I checked out the tutorials for hand baking, since i don't have neither ice tool nor prismaster. I know I am a newbie already, but i tried hand baking for 5-6 times and it was disastrous. Then I realized, maybe my loose snus is different than the normal loose ones, i.e. ettan lös. I really don't know what differs between ettan lös and fine cut so here are my q's.

    1) Is it me or is it the snus, that it always tears apart even I try to hand bake it for 5-6 days.
    2) What is the difference between lös and fine cut?
    3) Is it less healthier to teeth, using lös instead of using portions? What are your suggestions? I really loved the taste and I could immediately switch to loose, if I didn't have any struggles with the handbaking.

    Thanks!

The problem is that Klondike is snuff, not snus! So you can't bake it: you just need to take a pinch and put it under the lower lip.

And be careful: loose snus is not less healthier than portion snus, but snuff definetely is!

oh i see, thanks stark. I have (unfortunately) 4 more cans. :/ Could finishing those 5 cans make so much harm? I don't wanna put em into the trash, damn. I will read every single line of desc before I order anything again.

I had seen that thread, but I didn't understand anything by that, since I really have no clue about loose dipping etc, sorry for posting again on the same snus.

Since what I read in the link posted by Burnsey, you shouldn't worry too much for your health since it's pasteurized, not fermented, having consequently a low amount of TNSA.

And anyway normal snuff will not ruin your health just because you had 5 cans, that happens after years of regular use! Just be careful in the future

thanks Stark! Yeah I know it won't harm with only 5 cans, but I have minor anxiety issues so you know

And Ive read that inhaling is the most common (or maybe the only according to wiki) use of snuff. shouldn't i put it under my upper lip? (which is the way for me to suns portions)

In the case of Klondike, "snuff" refers to American moist snuff, more commonly known as "dip." The commonly accepted method of use is to grab a big pinch (a "dip") and place it along your lower jaw. It is unlike snus in that it goes under the lower lip and spitting is required.

It also tends to be messier, especially since you purchased fine cut. This makes it harder to pinch, since American dips do not have ingredients to help bake a pinch, as glycol does with snus. Do your best, it takes some getting used to, but you should get the hang of it eventually. And if not, it's only five cans.

Lower lip it.....in fact......if you were a frequent los user you could upper deck it as well.

Being paturised you should be able to go spit free with it and treat it as you would snus (baking it being the exception)

That said I have never had Klondike.......so I can only go on the reports of others

The main concern for me would be the sweeteners and their effect on teeth and gums........and the possibility they are using saccharine

But 5 cans should not be a problem......you might even alternate them with a some more traditional brands of snus.
