Offroad Long Cut Pure Tobacco (review)

I was hoping to use this exclusively for a day and then give a review after sampling it a few times, but it turned out once I opened the can, that was all I needed.

OR LC Pure Tobacco is a Sweded-up version of American Dip. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT UPPER LIP IT! It is drier than your average loose snus, and because of that, it isn't prismaster-compatible, and when I upper lipped it, it was like having a little rosebush under my lip. It was prickly and pokey and I didn't like it at all. I then extracted the pris and put it back in my lower lip like one should with dip, and it was pretty good. It's not very complex, just tobacco-tasting with a healthy serving of citrus, and maybe I'll taste a little more after trying it again, but overall, just a good, natural dip that you can swallow. I have to say, I don't love it, but I don't hate it. I'll probably order it again. This will definitely stay in my stock for days when I just want a dip, although I suspect it'll dry out pretty fast. I'm also going to try the American Wintergreen version. I expect I'll like this a lot; it seems a lot like what I used to dip, though probably saltier.

For those of you who long for a dip some days, but don't like spitting every couple of minutes, this snus/dip is for you. If you're more of a traditional snus-guy (girl), skip it. On a 1-10 scale (as a snus), I give this product a 2. It really isn't a snus, and honestly, it doesn't try to be. I wouldn't be surprised to see this product on the American market at all. On a 1-10 scale (as a dip), I give it an 8.5. It's definitely a quality product for what it is.

Hope this helps everyone, I'll repost or edit as I try more and my opinion changes.

Interesting that you found it dry. I have had the same can open for weeks now and I can squeeze it between my fingers and have a healthy but of juice run down my fingers.

When I use it, I tend to lower-lip it for a bit until it forms into a nice wad than I stuff it under my upper lip with my tongue if it starts juicing too much in my lower lip.

Now im in the mood for a pinch. maybe after lunch.

I'm sorry, I meant traditional snus-guy OR girl. I apologize for the confusion.

I'm not overly fond of the flavour, but it makes a nice change. I find it very moist also.

@ PP: LOL, alright, this is far less complicated than you might have originally thought. I am a man. I just convinced my wife to try snus on Friday (Jakobsson's IceFruit) and she liked it, so she got all jazzed up about snus and went on buysnus and ordered a few cans that she was interested in. But she was interested in finding out more about the whole deal and wanted to read some reviews, so I let her use my account here. She posted a few posts, and signed them with her name...Oh, and I'll post a pic in the thread, but alas I have no beard. I'm in the Navy, so I'm not allowed. Maybe I can post a pic from my driver's license where I do have a beard, but until then, I'm a barefaced snuser...very much in the minority, I know. My wife does have a beard though...weird, huh?

I am looking for a can or two of Offroad orange to try, but I really don't want to buy the whole roll of the limited editions because I'm new to this whole snus thing If anyone has one that they'd sell or trade to me, I'd really appreciate it. By the way, I have a local store that sells triumph portions, so I would gladly pick some of those up for someone as a trade.
              Thanks,

ROTFLMMFAOPIMP. Actually I put the thought into his mind so I could post. He just types faster than I do.

I tried it, but could not get much good flavor out of it. All in all, I was a bit disapointed. I still have a can of the wintergreen in the freezer and plan to try that one as well.

It definitely doesn't have an extremely bold taste, but it's flavor reminds me somewhat of iced tea with lemon. It also has a TON of nicotine...I had it in the lower lip for about 2.5 hours and was still getting nic when I took it out. And that was the first one of the day...

Just don't use this stuff if you need to be smiling alot. V2 varieties typically have slim-to-none on the tooth-browning factor.

The long-cut varieties will brown your teeth faster than the main course at a chocolate eating contest.

I assume this is due to the fact that the long-cut is all leaf tobacco rather than ground stem, but that is just an assumption. I am not a dentist, nor a tobacconist.

I haven't noticed much tooth-browning factor with this or any of my snus...maybe due to the fact that I jam my pris so far up in my gum that it's almost painful, but with the Pure Tobacco, I definitely lower lip it.
