It's nice to have 2.5 kilo snus in the fridge

I tried the first prilla from my newly baked Cut'n Roll batch. After only one day in the fridge and without any flavouring I can tell it's going to be a good batch.

You get 2.5 kilo from 1 kilo of tobacco flour.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your process and/or which leaf varieties do you use? A friend and I are thinking about grinding our own from whole leaf in the not-too-distant future.

      Hello pouchface

If I'm not miss-informed by the online store where I buy my tobacco flour it's Virginia tobacco. It's called Cut'n Roll and you can find it here: tilbudet(dot)se
"Råtobaksspill 1000g". If you go through Google translate you get a rough translation. Select Swedish and paste the link in the left box and click the translated link.

I have written an article about the process on by blog. You can find it here: creatinker(dot)com(slash)swedish-snus

        BB,
Thanks for the link, I bookmarked it and will probably (hopefully) be using it when my friend gets back from the military. Very informative post.

I have written an article on my blog on how I do my own snus. If you haven't tried it, it's time to learn how to make your own Swedish snus. Not only is it easy and fun, you save a lot of money when you do.

I'd love to try this sometime, but can see myself having difficulties getting the tobacco flour shipped to me ( being in the EU ) I'm going fire a couple of emails and find out.

              Great blog BasseBlues!!

                Hello bill77.017

Don't we all love the EU bureaucrats. But I'm lucky to live in Sweden and not affected by the ban. We got an exception because our long tradition. But you don't really need the flour, if you have tobacco leaves you can grind your own flour.

If you don't find any leaves you can grow your own. http://www.tobaccoseed.co.uk/

I don't think there is any difference between them psychicferret. Both produce the same temperature on the lowest warm setting. The reason I went for the Crockpot is that I could not find a big enough rice cooker. When you bake with 1 kilo tobacco flour you need at least a 3 litre pot. Crockpot got one that is 3.5 litre which is perfect for my snus.
