Camel Snus nicotine content.

Well, I'm content on quitting smoking and dipping, so I ordered a swedishmatch tasting kit buysnus.com. I've tried the camel snus, and I like the idea, but the reason i'm switching to real swedish snus is the lack of nicotine in camel snus. I find myself putting 3 or more in at one time because it just doesn't satisfy my nicotine needs, but it tastes great. Buysnus shows the nicotine content of the brands they sell, i'd like to see how this number compares to camel snus. Does anyone have any idea on the nicotine content of camel snus, or at least an estimate?

Camel claims 8 mg/g, but it's probably more like 4-5 mg/g since it's a mini portion.

Yeah, Camel snus never delivered a satisfying amount of nicotine for me.

Here is the nicotine content of Marlboro Snus Rich:

Nicotine, milligrams per gram of tobacco: 15.32

Average nicotine per pouch, in milligrams: 3.5

If you estimate that 20% of the nicotine is absorbed into the bloodstream, then that means you are only getting 0.7 mg of nicotine per pouch! No wonder American snus didn't help me quit smoking.

I don't know... I cut down smoking significantly using Camel snus. When I first used it I would get half buzzed for a little while. I almost chain smoked RYO American Spirits, so I was pretty acclimated to nicotine.

camel snus was my "gateway" snus product, tiding me over until my first order of real snus arrived. It was very, very easy to quit my near 30 yr smoking habit using just the camel snus. It had a satisfying nicotine kick that allowed me to break free from cigarettes. That being said, the camel snus is so sweet, I can really see it being a major contributor to tooth decay. It could also easily lure in teenagers who are new to tobacco products, and therefor could pose serious temptations to the underaged.

Camel and Marlboro snus IS manufactured to appeal directly to teens. Thats proven from the fancy tins, to the sweetness, to the mini-pouch so they can use it without anyone noticing.


I'd venture to say both camel and marlboro tins cost more the the wee bit of tobacco you receive in them.

The sad part is I still find myself getting the camel snus even after getting a large supply of the real thing. And I end up using it along WITH the real thing. Especially with some of the stronger tobacco flavored ones like general onyx. It seems to counter against the overpowering saltiness of the real deal. But I also can almost feel my teeth rotting in the process, scary stuff. I need to get off the camel snus before I run out of free coupons

No need to apologize for liking and/or using Camel snus. I'm the same. I have plenty of the potent stuff, but it's not every moment that I want to be clobbered by nicotine or powerful tobacco taste. Course, there's no such thing as "too sweet" in my book. I can pop sugar cubes and enjoy 'em. Still have my teeth, too!

Thats whats bad about flavored dips ( dont know about sugar content in snus ) is the sugar on the enamel of your teeth for prolonged periods is bad.

I'm all better now after several months of using mostly Swedish Match white portion brands...and after my los trial, I'm looking more and more normal everyday.
