Like everything I do, (working out, DE shaving etc...) I like to keep a journal to chronicle various facets of the experience. I just recently got into real snus. I've been dipping for years, switched to camel's "snus" for about 2 years, and now made the plunge into the good stuff. I bought a rather large order (for me at least) from snuscentral and want to share my thoughts on different brands.

General White Mint.
This was my first swedish snus I tried. Ironically, I was looking for camel, walked into a bodega in Brooklyn and they had a fridge of the stuff just staring at me. I recall a huge difference in how it felt vs camel. It was most certainly stronger, but the mint flavor was much more pronounced. It tasted much more like real mint rather than the fake flavor that camel tended to produce. It burned a bit, but over time I think I got used to it. A pretty good hit of salt and mint flavor that lasted for at least 2 hrs. I can foresee this being my go to can, and hopefully it is because I bought a roll of just that. I think this might be a good starting point for those, like myself, who are just getting into it. Im going to develop a rating scale, then edit this post to reflect it. -
Catch Eucalyptus Large White
Im not quite sure what drew me into this flavor. I think it was a combination of the cool packaging and the strange idea that Eucalyptus would be a good flavor. I was a bit disappointed with this one. Initially, the flavor is, well definitely very Eucalyptus. Not in the cough drop kinda way, but in a fresh, essential oil diffuser, (if that makes sense) kinda way. It loses flavor quickly, and the flavor that remains for the rest of the portion is hard to describe, but not something I liked too much. Also, there is not enough nic in the portion, and after throwing one of these in, I was still craving another. I wont write this off as a bad flavor per-say, but I doubt I'll buy it again. I have two cans of this, and imagine they will probably be among the last I go through.Comment

The LAB 13 Slim Extra Strong Formula+
Maybe not the smartest idea to go from the above snus' to an extra strong, bypassing a few of the other level of nic but I did nonetheless. A bit overpowering at first, I was surprised at the lack of burn I thought an extra strong portion would have. The description they give on snuscentral is spot on with " spicy tobacco character, clear tones of tropical fruit and red berries, with a hint of almond, citrus and a "touch" of delicious and exhilarating energydrink" I think the most prominent flavor out of this description is definitely the berry. I picked up hints of spice, and when I thought about what an energy drink tasted like, I did get a bit of the redbull flavor towards the end. I like this snus and can forsee it being in my daily rotation.Comment

Hey Evan..............cut and paste all of this over to the review section under the respective brand/flavor..........when someone wants to know about a particular snus, having everyone's insights in one place makes it a lot easier than having to search and scroll through a bunch of different threads.......these are nice reviews and will be a benefit to folks in the future.When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Oden's Original Extreme
I used to dip, and this immediately reminded me of Copenhagen straight. Except, I used to like cope straight and I am not much of a fan of this snus. All I taste is pepper and tobacco, so if you like this combination, by all means snatch up a few cans. I'm not sure if its the straight tobacco flavor that im not longer really used to, the level of nicotine, or both, but I really just did not enjoy this snus.Comment

Skruf Slim Sun Fresh Strong White
I liked, but didnt love this one. Description is spot on for the most part. Orange with mint undertones. However, I found the "mint" flavor to taste more menthol/eucalyptus like more than mint. Definitely a good hit of nic, and flavor is okay at the start, but seems to quickly deteriorate. I like to leave my portions in for as long as I can, and I found that after about 45 mins or so this portion simply did not taste good.Comment

Goteborgs Rape - White Large Lime
I just opened this today, and I really like this flavor. In fact, as of right now, I'll place it in my top 3 (even though I have not sampled many). It's a good lime flavor. Not artificial, but what one would taste in say a fresh magaretta, especially given the salt comes through on this one pretty nice. Description says lime and lavender flavor, though i'm not sure I taste lavender, there are certainly floral undertones. A+ in my book.Comment

Nord 66 Strong Portion
I have mixed feelings on this one. It says its supposed to taste like Licorice with sweet melon. Well, you can taste a faint bit of sweet melon in the beginning but it fades very quickly and the rest of the time is a VERY strong almost artificial (yes i know most are probably artificial.) Therefore a bit overbearing and certailny not a portion you can enjoy all day. I dont hate it but I doubt I'd buy it again.Comment

Nick & Johnny's Americana
Every time I try a new snus, i think i have a new favorite, so I will just say that I really really really like this snus. Described as medium tobacco flavor with a taste of spicy cherry. Now, the cherry flavor is certainly more than a taste, but its delicious and i certainly dont mind. Furthermore, it keeps its flavor for a long time, and the flavor doesn't deviate at all. Not sure if that makes sense, but I've found in some brands, after an hour or two they start to taste much different.
Will def buy again and explore more flavor of this brand.Comment
