    Nicotine Buzz vs Slavery

It really frightens me how much some of you snus. Despite a lesser risk to your health overuse of ANY drug is gonna cause problems. Maybe it's the Catholic in me, but I encourage all of you to be temperate in your snus use, and here's why.

Consider the following regarding Nicotine and it's effects on your body and mind. Taken from erowid.org the following graph gives you an idea of how long nicotine reacts with your body.

    Oral Nicotine Dosages
    Light .5 - 2 mg
    Common 1 - 4 mg
    Strong 2 - 6 mg

    Onset : 2 - 15 minutes
    Duration : 1 - 2 hours
    Normal After Effects : 3 - 6 hours

In other words, the MOMENT you spit out that extra stark portion and reach for anothrr....there is STILL nicotine in your blood steam, influencing your mind and body. The "high" so to speak is still occurring up to 2 hours after your portion exited your mouth.

So where's the benifit? Obviously you are not feeling satisfied when you chain snus....you have just fed your bodies desire for the drug. I'm gonna argue that there is no real point to chain snusing, especially when some of you are already using extra strong varieties. For the sake of your gums, your wallet, the environment, and your own enjoyment of snus wait at LEAST and hour or two in between portions.

You know that magic you get in the morning drinking some coffee and throwing in the first snus of the day? Imagine that same feeling being captured with each portion later on in the day with a mild amount of moderation. And should you ever want to quit for whatever the reason......I promise you double barreling stark road is an extremely hellish journey compared to the guy who uses tobacco like a dignified adult .

If my Snus intake frightens you, there's things that I did in my youth that would make you shit yourself.

Pretty sure some people chain snus because they enjoy the flavour and even just the habit. I use to chew a couple packs of gum a day and go through a bag of sunflower seeds while at work when I smoked.

and as stated above I've done worst thing to myself in the past then chain snused

You lost me with the title of this thread, which combines a smiley-face emoji and the misuse of the word slavery.

Hi Polluted ... and welcome to SnusOn

If there's a Catholic in you then it's perfectly normal for you to be worried ... I myself was worried when Father O'Brien was inside me. Luckily things are getting sorted out over here with respect to that kind of shenanigans ... just ask Rolf Harris! As for getting yourself concerned with others consuming more snus than is necessary ... please don't worry on our behalf ... those of us who chain-snus stark portions are well aware of the tiny risks and have weighed that up against the pleasure of our favourite tobacco flavours and an oral fixation which was triggered by Father O'Brien in the first place!

I am feeling satisfied when I chain snus ... otherwise I would not do it! Ha ha! I can tell when I have had too much by the jitters it gives me - that's my own body's sign to slow down. And while I agree that using more snus can be a downer on the wallet ... my oral health has never been better than in the 8 years I have been using snus. Not only does the alkaline nature of the snus neutralise the harmful acids that naturally occur in the mouth and promote tooth decay, but I have never suffered any gum recession due to snus use. As for thinking that snusing is harming the environment? I can see no way that holding vegetable matter in my mouth for a while and then disposing of it is any more harmful than composting a tea bag!

Well ... from one dignified adult to another ... welcome to SnusOn ... It's been a while since we had a proper troll ... I hope you stick around and we can have some fun together ... if you don't believe me, just ask Father O'Brien!

              Yours Faithfully,

I find using snus daily far, far better than my daily smoking in the past.

                Welcome to snuson as well...

I don't see the relevancy of Religion and the environment with respect to chain snusing. However at least for me personally, I think there is some merit in trying to increase awareness and to try and increase the time between the next dose of los snus. The self control required to do that consistently would have its own rewards, if you have an addictive personality like mine. Some people have more addictive personalities than others, so the idea of exercising at least some level of control over the snus habit will be more appealing to some and not to others.

Noooooo! Everything I've been reading says combustion is what causes most of the problems.

Besides, since I finally stopped lighting up my snus, I can better attest to both the health and financial benefits of snusing. My eyebrows, for example, have almost completely grown back in, and now I'm snusing like a, um... dignified adult. (Those tiny little toupées were expensive. Who knew?)

                            Possibly, but it's so... awkward.

                            Damn. So much to learn.

do not attempt with a dry white portion, makes for a rough entry
