    Loose snus?

Hi I am going to look for stickies and info on this on my own as well. I'm not a regular to the site so I figure that I will also ask and hopefully no one will mind that this info can be sought out on my own.

I've recently switched from portion to loose snus. I am getting the hang of making a wad (pris?) of loose snus and everything. The only issue is transferring it into my mouth (lol). Every time I put the wad of snus in my mouth at least one piece of it crumbles off and i have to spit it out. I have tried being really careful while making it but somehow it rubs against my mouth or teeth while putting it in and that's what the only problem is. I'm very new to the whole process. Just seeking insight into this one step as it's probably a really obvious and easy to explain thing? It stays together besides the parts that come off I really think it's the way I put it in my mouth or something... maybe I just need to be really careful?

You just need to get the feel of it. I barely bake lössnus anymore. I half-ass smoosh it together, toss it in my mouth, and place it with my tongue. It isn't something that can be taught imo. It has to be done by feel, and it gets easier over time.

So being careful while making it and putting it in is not even technically necessary. I have to experiment. The first time I tried after looking up a video on how it randomly fell apart. I just took it out of the fridge when that happened though. Anyway thanks for the interesting insight

As lx said, it's all about feel with Lös, something that you pick up over time. My first ever time with Lös was a mess! It's very much like learning to roll a cigarette, practice makes perfect. You can use an Icetool or similar to get it in and then experiment with using your tongue to move it about, reposition etc.

now I do similar to lx but I still make a ball like shape, throw it in then use my tongue to get it all right up there. Also don't make too big a pris as this will almost guarantee breaking apart and going everywhere I find. Start small and work up (snus lasts longer too). Also starting with the easier to bake snuses is a great way to learn the techniques for when it is in your mouth, roda Lacket and Prima Fint are prefect, most oden's Lös too and skruf I find is easy to use and move about.

Well, you won't get too far with loose if that puts you off. It's perfectly ok to swallow some of the pieces that come off. Just try not to over-think it and it will become second nature as others have said.

Hey I've had a few more days to get used to it. It's good to know that swallowing it isn't the end of the world. It's not so much that spitting a peice out or swallowing it bothers me it's more that it's a nuisance and if I'm driving or occupied it's annoying. Also I didn't want any snus going in my beard and then perhaps I wouldn't even notice lol. Anyway I'm going to check out the link for the Dipper's Guide to snus. I feel like I'm 90% of the way there to getting used to loose snus it wasn't as big of a deal to switch from the portion version as I thought. There is actually much less juice which I actually prefer for some reason.

Since you are new to Loose i would suggest packing the pris really hard / tight. Get a portioning tool like an Xtool (something cheap) and pack the sh!t out of it. Once you get used to the loose prilla you should graduate from a hard a$$ed pack to a looser pack. Eventually you will get comfortable hand baking.

I tend to "hill billy" it, one decent "dig" then stuff that b!tch up in my lip, give it a few pokes with my tongue and I am set.

Its something that you will have to work on, and see what best works for you.
